Thank everyone! Follow up question. What strings are you using on yours. I'm kinda stuck in the LA Bella flats or tape wounds and wonder if it's time to try something new for this bass. I do mostly pop and oldies rock. THANKS!
I think your string choices are good.
Been moving away from standard round wound strings for a while now.
GHS Pressure Wounds fill the round wound spot and feel and sound better to me.
I think lots of flats sound and feel good, I have D'Addario Chromes, Fender 9050 Stainless Flats, and some nice flats with red silks but I don't know for sure what they are.
I did not get along with Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats.
I'm using rounds on my Dynas, but that's just what I like. Seems you already prefer flats and tapes, so maybe stick with them?
Otherwise, pressure wounds or bright flats, like the Cobalts, for a change of pace.
Like @bigtone23 I use rounds on my Peavey '91 Dyna and 1979 Peavey T-40 as well...Rotosound (RS66 45-105 and 45-130 for the 5'ver). I have used the Rotos since 1991 for these basses and on a couple other of my basses too. I love the gravelly sound of them. Ive actually used Rotos mainly through the 80's 90's and current. I find them a good consistent string set most of the time. Not had too many Roto duds over 40 years or so.
I generally use Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalts (2736) 45-130 on my SR5 Stingray...Rickenbacker (95511) 45-105 strings on my Ric 4003.
I also use DR Black Beauties and at the moment I have DR neon whites on my EBSR5 Stingray.

There’s a NOS Peavey torsion wrench on Reverb if anybody’s interested. Original packaging and everything.

Fancy dollars for a truss wrench that's dirt cheap at a hardware store. Or free surplus from a guitar store.
Yeah, I did small mods to the truss rod opening to make a standard Gibson/Gibson style wrench work on a couple of mine with deep set truss rod nuts. A little filing here and chiseling there to the wood and Bob's your uncle. Truss rod cover hides all the work... 
Oh, and all of the Gibson wrenches were free. I like these as they have the phillips head driver needed to remove the truss rod cover.

Do any of you have any experience with the Peavey Cirrus 6 and the Yamaha JP2? I'm wondering ow the low end compares?
