My '87 Fury headstock looks just like 58kite's, so I'll skip posting a pic.

My other G Bass is a parts bass with a NOS neck (so no serial number.) It looks the same as above. I don't know how much certainty there might be that NOS is likely to be towards the end of production (2002 if the info I've gathered is correct.) I haven't seen any different G Bass headstocks.

My second entry in the club, refinished G bass with Gold strings. Love it!
Bought it like this. It was refinished by T Dog Customs. All the details can be found here. I only changed the strings to gold.

It's a great neck. The most straight and true of my 3 early 80s wide/thin ones. I got lucky when it popped up for sale.
It's attached to this Frankenstein. Monster player with scary good sound.

On the subject of necks, does anybody have one to spare? I learned that my Goodwill gold slant Fury can straighten with spacers behind the nut, but then the dreaded hump at the top frets appears. I'm trying to decide between finding a used replacement neck or going big-time and ordering a Warmoth medium scale neck (which is pricier than I thought it would be).
