I don't have experience with the Yamaha, unfortunately but I will say the Cirrus low end is quite impressive. Very tight and responsive low B that is crisp, clean and transparent. You'd be hard pressed to find a notably better sounding low B within the Cirrus price range.

Oh I know! I already have a Cirrus 5 and 6. Looking to expand my options and considering the JP2 and Dingwall NG3 6.

Crazy weird you posted this bass right about now. Such a beauty!

My nephew and family came up for the eclipse and his 15 year old daughter stated she's always wanted to learn to play bass, she has played violin a bit, so I said I probably know somebody who may be able to help with that. So I mulled it around a little and sent her home with Goldie and a Trace Elliot BLX80...she was psyched and very appreciative and it absolutely made my day!......the eclipse was cool too!

Nice "gift", wow! Is it a Foundation Peavey, or a Peavey Foundation? (can't quite see the logo)

No argument from me, I love them. Tbh, it's the only Peavey model I can't find any niggles with. I think I've had all the old ones at some point or other (except a Cirrus, or a six-string). For my tastes the gen 1 Foundation is pretty much a perfectly designed bass. Not a Peavey fanboi here at all, but definitely a Foundation acolyte. Cheers.

I think that body shape was as good as anybody ever made. An improved P bass.
I have a short list of Peavey favorites:
Gen 1 Fury
Gen 2 Fury
Gen 1 Foundation...or better yet a Patriot with a second pickup at the neck heel.

Yeah man! I've been waiting for one of my young relatives to take interest in bass. I hope she stays with it, she was plucking notes immediately and she knows some music stuff from the violin so it looks promising.

Started on files for a Toaster for anyone interested. Just doing basic dimensions right now. Sent these off to @XsoGol to check out. Might have to do pole pieces in order to attach the coils to the Baseplate as these will not have covers. These will use two standard SF magnets in place of the super huge magnet that came factory. These could be powered by ceramic , Alnico of any grade and Neodymium. Magnet mixes are also possible. Ceramic/Neodymium would be a very powerful combination.

Guys, I've decided to put together a reference document for US Peavey headstock changes over time....shape, logo, tuners, etc. I don't think this has been done before. So I'm requesting your help. If you can send me via PM or even post here clear pics of any US headstock along with the date code of the bass, I will begin to put together the documentation and of course I will post it here for reference.

Did an updated video on the VB-2 sound demo. I mixed the XLR Post EQ DI with an SM57 mic blended 50/50. Messed around with a Fender Precision Ultra, Jazz Ultra, and RAY35 Sterling by MusicMan basses. My older videos it was just the DI which sounded good but not the best take on the tone this monster amp puts out. Hope everyone enjoys! Headphones recommended!!!!

EHX 6CA7 Sextet Power Valves, two 12AX7 for the preamp, and 12AT7 for the phase inverter.
