I've thought about that, too. I was actually going to ask if anyone had used it. It's an '83 Fury in gold, so I definitely want to keep it original if possible. It's really a matter of contacting them and finding the best way to ship to Texas.
I've also heard of a technique to pull the neck back, tighten as much as possible, and then start to loosen. However, I don't want to risk cracking the neck by putting too much tension on now that the spacers are in there.
I wish Mech was still here to advise.
Common sense would point out that all these years later there is insufficient lubricant on the truss rod to protect it when adjusting, and that also means more friction so the method of tightening used when new is not advisable?
There are a lot of options here...Question for you who have replaced the factory pups. I'm looking at modding one of the two 1987 Furys that I have, specifically replacing the factory pups with SD QP for a different range of sound. Is there a brand and model of potentiometer that fits best and has the necessary performance specs?
Agree with @BassikLee, I would add it feels a bit thinner front to back at least compared to Squier Contemporary five string J and the string spacing is pretty tight too, I think it’s 16.5mm, overall it’sAre there any thoughts or opinions on Peavey Millennium 5 BXP necks?
I still have a lot of materials from guitar building. Was thinking of building a 5 string. These necks are available from Peavey. Thought I would ask before purchasing
Bummer. Very cool bass, and at $100, a no brainer. Blood is thicker than water, especially with a grandchild!Argh! Found a '92ish era Foundation 5 on Marketplace locally for the standard "All Peavey $100" price. Spoke with the seller and he was going to bring it to his workplace this morning for me to check out and probably buy. Sends me a message last night around 7:00 and said his grandson is interested in playing and wants it. Super bummed. Told him if he loses interest, to not forget about me. Don't need another bass, but would've gladly bought this. Oh well
Those look beautiful.First T style. Koa tops. U.S. steel blades. Nickel plated. Sealed in Satin Urethane. Ready to be wound. Many magnet options. For a factory recreation two standard SF magnets will be used as no super large Ceramic magnets are not availableView attachment 5429379

Can't beat a great Dyna Bass. Funnily enough I ordered a white 5 string Dyna Bass from the USA back about 1990 and when it arrived here in Australia after what seemed like an eternity, it turned out to be a 1991 red one lolll. Hope you have fun with your beautiful white Dyna Bass.Going to meet up and pick up this Peavey Dyna bass this Sunday.
