Man, this is probably the prettiest Koa Dyna I have ever seen. It's for sale on the Vancouver Craigslist, very steep price and looks like it has been refinished. I have never seen one with a poly? finish.
Thx duder ,,I can honestly say I've never heard any bass sound lik her with the combo of the stock pups and the duncan pre and pickup..I made this mod maybe 20 years ago so their wasn't many choices for stingray pups and pres, so I took a swing and it worked out ok I think.Ouch!

Well the normal duncan stingray preamp controls with the push pull slap switch,,and 2 more push pull knobs were added to control knobs of the duncan to control the ferrites..too many options man..lol
Same year as my Foundation S but a different blue. Need to dig out that color chart again.
I love my 84 Foundation and 91 FL...

The Stingray pickup is pretty much right where it needs to be to sound like a Stingray, too. Win-Win!

SFs sound better (to me) than T pickups, especially in the neck position. The best sounding iteration of my T-42.5 (T/Foundation mashup) was with the T pickup in the bridge and the SF in the neck.

I have a friend that went Baugley neck crazy. Put one on a Bass VI body, put another on a baritone guitar body, and another on a T40 body Yeah, they are cool looking and stable... but... those instruments were Olympic caliber neck divers and made unnecessarily heavy. Oh, the necks were also several hundred dollars each. I'm too pragmatic for something so expensive to have two major points in the 'con' list.

I can't believe how good the super ferrite/toaster combo sounds! The volume balances out really well too. Full hum cancellation and all that
Yeah, other than the cool aesthetic of having two Toasters in a Foundy body, I do miss the tonal superiority of the SF/Toaster.
To be fair, because of having two Toasters in the bass with a DPDT switch (that was already in there), I did learn how to split the pickups to get inside coils, resulting in a hum cancelling situation that sort of sounds like a passive Stingray. That, and the green pickup rings, are enough for me to be happy with the end result.
