U.S. Peavey Club

Sacrilege Alert:

My G Bass has been thoroughly transformed. It was being overlooked ever since my last two fretless acquisitions knocked it down to 3rd. It's not because they feel better, but because of the sound. I liked the G Bass, especially with the Ghost piezo saddles added, but it just didn't sound as good as the other two.

I thought about posting here, but figured since I've moved a Peavey in a decidedly non-Peavey direction, I'd post a link instead.

They originally were Schaller tuning pegs but Gotoh did make copies of them. The Gotoh version was discontinued decades ago so you might be better looking for Grover Titans. Course Grover means plugging and drilling for mounting screws.

My apologies... 90s were the fender like clover keys with a pbass like 4screw mounting plate

My speed typing is misleading... "No drill" meant "I want to use the factory holes"

Are the neck plates on the various 80's Peavey models the same size? Thinking of replacing the solid black neck plate on my 85 Patriot for one with the Peavey logo.

Just picked up an RSB. Nice bass, it seems really similar to my axcellerator. Same hardware, electronics, etc. Anyway, I'm going to change all the hardware to black (I don't change things that can't be reversed) and was wondering if pretty much any "1 screw" tuner will work. Also, the tuner pegs are very small, not quite guitar small, but small. What is that measurement? I was thinking the Gotoh GB350 and a Gotoh 203 or 201?

Peavey is selling that hardware on Ebay right now.

Yes, the tuners are a commodity one screw type.

I'm super tough on my gig gear and have snapped quite a few from abuse.... the generic ebay ones have worked quite a few times

Good call. I think the generic black tuners and the bridge for the millennium bxp are the same as what's on it, except black. If I could find out exactly what fits I'd rather put Gotoh on though, since I know it's good stuff.

Note not all BXP or international are the same.... the early ones are commonly almost late USA (usa constructed with foreign parts)

Your bridge does look very akin to my early import millenium.
