How does it sound? It reminds me more of a USA Mill than a Foundation.

It looks, feels, and plays like a Millennium 4... except it has the 34" scale I prefer. The neck feels like a Mill and has the same fast satin finish. The pickups sound like the same pickups Peavey uses in the 2nd generation Foundations. Peavey refers to them as "frequency tailored single-coil pickups." Very modern sounding single coils with clarity, growl and burp.

I've owned both "Super Ferrite" and "Peavey Soapbar" pickup Foundations and Dyna-Basses and my ears prefer the "Peavey Soapbar" "frequency tailored single-coil" versions.

I'm still guessing on string tension... this can be several things.. bad strings... a needed string tree... not enough wraps on the tuning peg.

I'd start with another set of high end physically balanced (no run out) strings and try it again.

Next step would be testing an old school capo to see if a string tree could help.

I've own several botiques that I couldn't get chapman stick action without changing strings and getting a more abrupt break over the bridge and nut.

Reading your thread about the amazing deal you got on your gold one is what rekindled my interest in landing one. Seems that you enjoy them enough to be on a mission to score one in every color.

The bass is really nice... feels and plays like a Millennium... but passive with a 34" scale: )

The Foundation 2000 was produced for less than two years. Unlike the more common Foundation models, this one has a longer upper horn for better balance and a deeper lower cutaway for high fret access. This bass has rarely left its hard shell case (included) and is in great condition. The body has a sparkly metal flake look. The pickups are single-coil, giving it a Jazz Bass kind of sound.
