Have you checked this? Chip Todd, the man who created the T-40, can make it lighter for you.

That sure would work! I would think doing that kind of routing work on the back of a T-40 would lighten it up quite a bit and shouldn't take away from the sustain, as long as you left the center block solid. It would work like a chambered body, but without the cover.

The trick would be routing it so that the balance wasn't thrown off. You could totally use a brush on clear coat in the chambered part.

I was thinking about drilling 1/2" holes around the edge and then caping them with a wood that's a close match. I have a drill bit that's almost 12" long so it could reach almost to the pickup cavities. It would take a bunch of weight out without changing the overall look of the body.

To all those that are chopping up T-40's. How heavy can they possibly be? If you don't like the weight you can rid yourselves of the burden by mailing them to me.

I would clamp it to a large angle plate and do the drilling on my milling machine. It would be very easy to control the location and depth.

I'm not crazy about the silverburst, but it's a nice looking bass! I'm defininitely a Peavey convert. I'll be looking to get a few vintage Peavey's in the coming years.

Guys I was going to ask if anyone saw this baby last night also.She looks like a real beauty,the sellers feedback is a little scary though.Even though his feedback is in the 90's it is low 90's. I do have to admit I don't know much about these basses in particular.Does anyone have one or played one? Sure is pretty though.I love the smokey grey burst. Dawg. Joe

What we have here gentlemen is a Peavey Foundation in what looks like good condition, which needs some TLC and a new input jack. I don't think it's going to go for much because of the repairs that are needed, but they would be minor for someone who knows what they're doing.

FedEx just showed up and gave me a box, a nice box, a brown box, and the box was good. Even better though was inside the box there was a case, a black case, a blcak case that said Peavey. Even better than that, I'm really psyched at this point cause I was happy with the box, in the case that was in the box was a US Cirrus Tiger Eye 6 w/birdseye maple board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Good Lord almighty..... I've been beaming with my newly rediscovered 4 string bliss and my Zodiac but sheeesh, this Cirrus is stellar.

Another Foundation listing (last week?) had pickups with pole pieces. I questioned the seller about the originality of the bass and he insisted that it was stock. More like shtick.
