Just got myself a Zodiac to tide me over until the Cirrus 6 comes in.....
You get the DE version? If so, what do you think of it? Shoot, regardless of the version what do you think? I don't have anything with a precision pickup in it and I have been looking at them for quite a while.
Man, I regret not joining the ranks of Peavey lovers sooner! My Peavey Millennium Plus 4 is spectacular!
I am looking to trade it for a 5-string version, though. I should have gotten the 5 - some of the songs I play require the B. Check classifieds if you're interested.

not the DE version but the burst/maple neck one. if you go to my MySpace(in my sig) and check out the tune called "Tamid" that's just three tracks of the Zodiac.

That's a nice sounding instrument! How did you record? Minimal stuff in the signal chain? The one thing that always scares me about inexpensive basses is that the electronics are often not acceptable for my needs. Your Zodiac sounds very articulate.
I wonder if Peavey bass prices reflect the lower resale value they suffer from. My Millennium Plus 4 rivals and surpasses many other basses in the $1000 price range, but I got it used for $400!
I don't really know. There are a lot of gear snobs and headstock whores out there,that think if you don't pay 3 to 4 thousand dollars for a bass it can't be great.Peavey because of a lot of ignorance has suffered this for years.But thats cool because we can still get them reasonably.I do think however it does happen with other brands to though.Fender for example.Last year I was selling my 2006 60th anniversary Fender MIA Deluxe Jazz.I had the bass about 2 months.Fantastic and beautiful bass.I paid $ 1265 for it brand new.Put it up for sale for $1000.2.5 months later nobody wanted it.Finally dropped it to $900 and finally someone called me and bought it.Now if you look at this year Fender seems to be one of the top basses everyone is dying for.Never try to figure people or the market out.

I just wish I had gone Peavey sooner! USA quality, Peavey reliability, and import prices - what's not to like? I won't be disappointed if no one wants to trade their Plus 5 for my Plus 4 - I'll just save up for a Plus 5. Maybe I'll get a TL5 or a Rudy Sarzo 5 instead. Gotta get a T40 and do what this guy did to his:

ya, fairly straightforward. I went into my Hartke VXL pedal with all 3 tracks. minor eq'ing. then aside from the reverb and delay I used a master eq for the bounce to disk so there's not really a whole lot of trickery with the tone fo the Zodiac, it's got a new set of DR FatBeams and that's it!

That Hartke VXL pedal is a nice piece of gear, huh?
I doubt it. I have a Plus 4 and a Plus 5 that I got for nice prices. I remember back after a got them not many people had a lot of confidence in Peavey as an instrument builder. Even the Cirrus, got one of those also, wasn't very respected. There's still a lot of that sentiment among many potential buyers. IMO snobbery is the culprit.
