I'm agreeing with BassikLee. My own has the same damage to the body,previous owner had stuck a Duncan preamp in so had further weakened the top by drilling an extra 2 holes. I felt I'd got a good deal for $100 as there were Duncan PJs in it and a Gotoh bridge.

I'd wait on another B-90,sure you may learn to cope with the twisted neck but chances are you wont.

I wouldn't pay more than $100, but that's only if I felt confident I could fix the neck. I'm really only interested in it to get a US Peavey cheap and to have something to try out my fledgling luthier skills on. I would refinish it also. By no means am I set on getting it. I was just wondering if anyone here had experience with twisted necks and if they are a lost cause or not, especially with limited skills and tools.

I tried putting a Q-Parts inlayed knob on the top part of the concentric mid knob, and the post is way smaller than an average post. So, a knob would have to have a pretty small size to fit.

I don't think I would pay $50 for that B Ninety.

Decent prices, if I had money I would be driving to brea to check out that forum, headstock would cure my 94 fetish, then I could have all 4 main headstock types. Alas, no money. Still wouldn't cure my super ferrite need, but I don't currently have a PJ.

No money makes all points moot. Someone in Georgia is going to score on that $139 92ish fury.

The main difference in the 1st model Foundation and the 1st model Dyna Bass is the preamp. Dyna Bass also had premium hardware and painted neck/peghead. They are the same body and neck.

That B Ninety is a basket case. Twisted necks are firewood, IMO. I've tried heat with clamping on three and they all reverted.

Like 30 pages ago I started a Patriot project. I changed my mind about the direction of the project (hence the poor routing around the pickup and weird pickup location)
Patriot body, Foundation fretless neck, t40 pickup with push / pull single coil switch.
Now I have a fretless that I really like.
I never could get excited about the style (or lack there of) with the 90s Foundation bass.

Just had a depressing U.S. Peavey experience. Local pawn shop had a white Foundation listed on Craigslist, said it was in great condition so I drove up there to check it out.

Got there, the truss rod cover was missing, the truss rod nut was super rusted, neck bow, rusted pickup screws, scratchy pots with shafts that had eroded somehow and the knobs were slipping, only a couple dings on the front but the back was beat, and huge gouges in the back of the neck.

All that and they were asking $269 with no case. I considered offering them $75.....

Typical pawn shop, at that price it will be there a long time. I wouldn't touch it unless they let you tighten the truss rod. My pawnshop fury was beat up pretty bad, and the lowest they would go was $72, and that was only down from the $99 opening bid they had for several weeks on eBay. From 269 tells me one of the greener employees there overpaid for it.

Yeah, I think they'll be sitting on it for a while, it's been on Craigslist for over a month already. The bihhest negative for me was the neck gouging - it could really be felt when playing above the 5th fret. Makes me sad that such a nice bass has been treated so poorly.

For the right price, tone and mojo, a beat up neck is not a deal breaker for everyone, as long as it can maintain proper relief.

At the time my area was all overpriced with firm sellers. But my beater was playable as it was, just changed the strings, slight saddle tweaks and intonation and it was good enough to go. Then shortly after a better one popped up, one that I missed earlier, seller got about $20 and a non peavey hard case that he kept in a flip, and I got a decent pinstripe for $140. My foundation was a beater but with a clean back of the neck, $40 with a cracked but useable case (not for a plane trip though) all told I have $252 invested in 3 USA peaveys and one case. I sold the milestone II after I got the pinstripe.
