I recently purchased an Axcelerator 4 string off Ebay. It is in nice condition but the bridge PU was way down in volume and sounded bad. I ordered a replacement PU from Peavey and installed it this morning. The volume is now where it should be but the bridge and neck PU's sound like they are out of phase with each other. Sounds kind of hollow.

I thought about reversing the bridge PU wires on the blend pot (which should correct the phase problem) but since it is an active PU it might damage the preamp in the PU. I assume there is a preamp in the PU. Looked online and could not locate a schematic for the PU's.

Suggestions? Anyone ever have a similar problem and, if so, how did you correct it?

Update on my Millenium - the the D string tuning machine is binding some - so I took a closer look, and it does appear that the tuning key is bent a bit. Odd - there is no damage at all on the headstock or tuning key. Contacted Peavey to see if they have replacements available. If not, does anyone know if the Hipshot Ultralights come with a black and buffed silver key to match?

I've custom-ordered different color combos from Hipshot a number of times, on tuning keys, and bridges, too. Speak with Jason or Oscar...great company to order from.

Took it home, cleaned it up, changed the strings (put Cirrus strings on). The neck pocket had a small thin shim - that explained the high action. When I first got it it was playable but I like stoopid low action ! Shimmed it with two business card pieces. Adjusted the truss rod to get the neck nice and flat. Then I noticed some creak when tuning so I lubed the nut, tuned it up and OMG - fastest neck I’ve ever played. Action is scary low - have to raise the bridge saddles just a touch. Beautiful, light, sounds fantastic. Holy cow what an instrument! I seriously think it may become my go to over my Cirrus 5 - it just fits me better.

Sat down and played for awhile last night. Holy cow this thing is a player. The Cirrus is a Mercedes, the Millennium is a Corvette :-) The tuning key is not a big deal - it's fully functional , but I would like to get it replaced at some point.

Still have not heard back from Peavey. wth.....

Hey - you got some nice basses I see ;-)
