Picked up a B Quad 5 and have been blown away by how great it is.

I'm glad I'm Scottish. £50 to £100 is the going rate for Foundations here. Was £240 for my 1st,2nd & 3rd gen Furys all in. I'd break your hearts if you knew what I paid for the B-Quad or the midibase

I'll have to take your word for that - although your impressive collection of US Peaveys certainly backs that up... On the bright side, I can also get Mesa Boogie gear for a reasonable price, lol...
OK, here's my find of the day off Kijiji (think Craig's List but not as dodgy). Good used guitar, no strings attached!
'92 Foundation which has certainly been lived in but has great bones. A bit of corrosion from storage and some superficial scrapes and stickers but otherwise completely sound. Trussrod works fine, tuners are good, frets show no significant wear, neck's clean as is fingerboard. (Edit: That mark on the back of the neck is tape residue: why one wonders?)
Cost? 45 bucks US.
I'm going to enjoy disassembling this baby and bringing her back to playability.

The Pick Dispenser is a nice touch...great find...is there a sub-group for the "Peavey Rescue Society" ?
That’s a great idea. Older American Peaveys seem to show up all over in varying degrees of dilapidated or abused condition, but come around like feral cats to be amiable, loving pets. It speaks to their innate toughness and inner charm.
BTW, making considerable progress on this particular moggy after a morning of de-rusting. The bridge was an absolute tribute to pitting corrosion.

Couldn't shake the talk about parallel wiring and T45's. Spoke to a few folk here in the UK who'll glady rewind the pickup for £40-£50

Thanks, quite partial to the rosewood/blocks look myself.
2 weeks of sitting with two different doses of penetrating oil and the truss nut is still stuck. I don't want to put much more oil on there because of the concern of the oil soaking into the wood. Is it time to take this to a luthier?
