Welp, when it rains, it pours. Just scored a 2nd Mill 5+, from the same store as the first one. They had it listed as a 4-string, so i didn't pay any attention, until the pic finally uploaded. It's trans green, matching headstock, and appears to have the same birdseye maple neck and fingerboard. I'm guessing someone traded them both in at the same time. Will post pics when it gets here (likely Monday).

Was that GC? I had that bass in my cart but decided not to pull the trigger since I already have a trans green Milly - just not the + neck. Beautiful bass by the look of it!!

Since we're on the topic of Super Ferrite pickups and hum cancelling, how many have the humbucking SF pickups? I have at least two. The bridge pickups in both of my first generation TL-FIVEs are humbuckers. A little birdie told me he had heard that they were experimenting with those toward the end of first run of SF pickups, before they changed to the new mold. I don't have either bass here to post pics of, but I'll have them next week. Storage, 100 miles away.

I’ve got two ‘95 Furys and also love them. They did make 5-strings at the time, including this ‘95 Foundation. The tone, however, doesn’t have much to do with a P-bass.

I LOVE how we Peavey phreaks are SO crazy about our Peavey's. Im sure you feel like I do ; like the bass was made especially for me. My Peavey's feel like an extension of my personality.

I am curious about the various Millennium models that were offered. I have seen some with painted bodies and Standard hardware, mine has a flame maple top with a see through finish and Hipshot hardware and a black headstock. The neck on my bass is plain maple with a pau ferro fingerboard. Still others have the upgrades my bass has plus BE maple necks and a matching headstock.

What are the various versions called?

The Millenniums were offered in Standard and Plus models. I've seen various fancy tops and figured/birdseye neck woods in both models. It seems the only definitive difference is that the standards were equiped with gotoh style tuners and the plus came with hipshots and a detuner.

There's also a passive PJ in 34" scale length. I heard those sold only through MF.

Mine is a J/J with the usual 3 band Millennium electronics.

I also love my mid 90s Fury. Went to the pawn shop yesterday and saw a Fury on the wall. Was thinking "I don't have the money, I don't need another, but I have to buy this." Guy puts it in my hands and something is off. Looks like it's been thrown down the stairs a few times, and there's a slight ramp in the neck. Action is pretty high. But what's going on with the body? No pickguard, bottom of neck truss rod adjustment notch, wrong knobs, wrong pickup, wrong bridge... Flip it over and see Yamaha printed in a couple places! Makes me wonder what monstrosity the PV body turned into.

I was both disappointed and relieved.

It’s a great bug to catch! Pretty sure the USA 5 Millies only came in MM/J config. The Millenniums were never offered in fretless. Fretless Cirruses (Cirri?) are quite common out in the wild.

Gorgeous bass. And thanks so much for the info. I’d love to find a Milli 5 MM/J and or a fretless 5 or 6 Cirrus.
