What a bass !!! That neck is unreal. I LOVE the USA Milli's but I always wanted them in 24 fret like the Cirrus.

Really pretty Millennium Plus 4 on Reverb but it is priced high. The one I just got was new in the case but missing the hang tag and I paid much less than they are asking for this one. They are calling the top tiger eye but it looks like flame maple to me. Lovely flame. Humm...is it called tiger eye because of the color?

Yeah, the color. There's a Millennium color chart somewhere, with all the various finishes, including some opaque colors. Can't recall if that Reverb one is actually Tiger Eye or Tobacco stain, but it seems like it might be the most popular Millennium finish?
This was my NOS Plus 4. Very high build quality all 'round, including an real nice molded hardcase. I might have preferred a JJ model instead, which I suspect are less common than the MM J.
folks thought someone was nutty when they bought my sienna burst t40 with fretted/fretless neck(s) for $900...

Got the 2nd Mill yesterday! According to the color chart, it's Black Teal. i actually had another one this color a few years back, but it had a pau ferro fingerboard and black headstock. This one is much prettier, although I kinda wish the top was a bit more figured (first world problems, I know). According to the serial number, it's a bit newer than the Tiger Eye, and I noticed a slight difference between the 2- the neck bolts and ferrules are inset a bit more. Other than that, pretty much identical, save for the color. I played the TE this past weekend, and loved the tone and how well it played with all my effects.
Here's a pic of my old Black Teal Mill, when I was toying around, and put a GV neck on it. If the Mill neck on the GV body would've felt better, the swap may have been permanent!

Funny you mention that. I have a millenium with GV neck as well, and its leftovers live together on a bass I don't play much.
I owned the Sarzo for a few minutes earlier this month. Glad she’s coming home with a friend.

Yeah, for some reason the GV neck with either body felt great, but the Mill neck on the GV body felt... I dunno, like it was set too far into the body? It felt wrong, if that makes sense. Essentially rendered the bass useless to me.
I tried it too... the contour of the neck is different... mated to the contour differences on the body.

Can you give more details? I thought the bodies were very similar, if not identical, in shape. Differences in the neck pocket?
It's very strange, because for all practical purposes, the bodies ARE identical. To me, I think it's the neck profile that just isn't me. I know I had a Millenium several years ago, and sold it. The GV neck is just more-deep enough to feel entirely different. I have a bolt on Cirrus 5 as well. That one also has a crazy-thin neck, but it's a bit more of a C carve, and more comfortable to me than the Millennium 5 neck. The Milly neck, to my hands, is just too thin/flat. Part of that is my left hand. I'm more of a caveman neck grabber than a "wear the bass high, use proper technique" guy. Your mileage may vary.
While I haven't measured, I'd bet the GV neck is only about 1/8" deeper than the Milly neck, but the shape is enough different that it matters.
I have a Millennium 4 and a G bass. I had TI flats on the Millennium and La Bella flats on the G bass. They both sounded good.
Today I got curious and switched the strings....Millennium now has La Bella's and the G bass now has TI flats. I'm glad I was curious. Both basses sound better. The Millennium just kills now. What great tone it has and the G bass sounds better than it did with the La Bella strings. The TI's added something to the tone which enhanced it.
The difference in tension between the string sets required me to adjust the truss rods on both basses. I really appreciate the truss rod adjustment on the Millennium. This got me to wondering who first used the wheel truss rod nut. Was it Music Man or Peavey or some other inspired guy?

Both Music Man and Gary Levinson were use the truss wheel adjustment 86/87.
