All this talk about the necks on the Millennium basses makes me want to make an observation. I had a Millennium 5 pass through my collection and the bass played and sounded great but felt.....different? Strange? Can't explain it. I traded it to one of the guys here for his Cirrus 5 which I love and he loves the Millennium but kind of misses the Cirrus.
That said, m Millennium 4 feels great. It has a wonderful neck and I compared it to my G Bass (also feels great) and think the Millennium is just as good. I prefer the tone(s) of the dual PU Millennium over the single PU G bass.
I wonder. Why did Peavey decide to make the G bass with a single PU. Weird. The Cirrus preamp is there...all the bass needs is that second PU and it would be more useful IMO.

And.... The GV has two Cirrus pickups. The closest pickup to the one in the G bass is the one in the Forum, if I recall.
Yes. I had a one PU forum and it had a PU that looked the same as the one in the G bass. The Forum had the same preamp as the Axcelerator where the G bass has the same pre as the Cirrus.
Got my TL6 and Sarzo today. Both have great necks and feel awesome. I need to date them but I’m looking forward to getting familiar with both of these fine instruments.
Then the Forum plus five has two of those same pickups, plus the two band preamp that the Forum and the Axcellerator has. Kind of an odd use of pickups in different models.
Many players prefer a single pickup bass, especially when that pickup is in the EBMM Stingray position. I like both single and double pickup equipped basses, but my number 1 is a Stingray.
I think the G bass pickup position is closer to the P Bass spot.
I tend to like single pickup basses.
Tend not to like a bridge position pickup, but a second pup up against the neck is really cool.

I miss the look of the Cirrus - but something about the geometry of that bass messed with my left hand. The Millennium sits a bit differently on me and the reach to the 1st fret isn't as long. Neck profiles - I think the Millenniums I have are just a bit thinner than the Cirrus - not much, but noticeable. I love the Millennium neck profile - I think it's the best profile for me that I've ever played. I just really really really really really want one with a birdseye maple neck.........
I agree Chuck. It is a real beauty but EVERYTHING on Reverb.com is way overpriced. I mean full on sticker price MSRP prices.

So, kind of embarrassing, but I sorta forgot I had another US Millennium, and have had it for a while! It's one of the late Mill Std PJ basses, which I got for a song, since GC thought it was a BXP. It played well enough, but the tone was never anything that 'wowed' me, so it sat in a rack, collecting dust. One of the original tuners broke earlier this year, so I threw on a set of Hipshots I had originally bought for another bass. On a whim last night, I installed the Kickass bridge, which was a drop in, although, I can't string-thru body anymore, unless I drill the bridge. I rarely use it anyway. I have a Zodiac DE, that came with Basslines (Seymour Duncan) Quarter Pounders, which I finished installing a little bit ago. Cleaned her, set her up, and, now, it's a great bass. P-bass tone for days! I'm still not much of a 4-string player, but, if that changes, I know where to go!

Oh! Almost forgot! The GC I bought the 2 Mill+'s from, forgot to send the cases that were listed. Got them yesterday. Both are the OEM Peavey cases (that are molded for the Mill, so I'm not sure what their plan was...lol), and one had an old Mill manual in it!
OK, I got 5 US Peaveys last month.... so not to be outdone by October..... November came in with a Dyna Bang!
