I love the grill covers! I wouldn't have chosen that fabric for me but I think it's classy.

Here's a modded T-40, played by Louis Lowy of the Miami band (80's) "Bootleg". I remember seeing them in Hallendale at "The Treehouse" and recognizing this bass as a T-40, back in '86:



Diane, the singer, is still active in the Miami scene- she now plays drums for a band I used to be the bass player for ("The Volunteers", now called "The Three Jacks").

I love the T-20. Simple, elegant. Neat.

Well, I just brought the '79 T40 to practice for the first time... whoa daddy... it did the job! I received more accolades from that bass than any of the others. Now I just need to find a T40 for a backup... so the GAS starts again!

For the record... the Peavey gear that I own is:

'79 Peavey T40 (natural, maple)
Peavey Firebass 700
Peavey Bassist Preamp
Peavey 2x12 (BW Loaded)
Peavey 2x10 (pimped! see Pimped Peavey thread)

I have yet to actually all of the Peavey gear together (i.e. T40 -> Firebass -> 2x12), but I bet that it would sound killer! This weekend I plan to jam on the T40 -> Trace Elliot -> 2x12. :bassist:

I love my U.S. Peaveys. I've got two G-V's and a U.S. walnut neck-through 5 on the way. These are the s**t in affordable basses...my god!! Nothin' like having the best tone and feel, while still having good credit!

You're looking at one happy bass player.

Now hopefully I don't find something else at NAMM! I can't afford boutique, so that probably won't happen.

Now, an endorsement wouldn't be bad....

Is a Cirrus 5 a "better" bass than a Millennium Plus 5? What would make you choose one over the other? I know that some of you have owned a Millennium in the past and sold it when you got your Cirrus because the Millennium sat unplayed - why did you play the Cirrus more than the Millennium?

Had some time to Kill yesterday before rehearsal so I dropped into my local Peavey dealer to look around. I noticed a couple of 5 string Cirrus on the rack. One was rather interesting because it had the Millennium pre amp and the Hipshot A bridge just like on the Millennium, but other than that it was all Cirrus. Neck through two humbuckers etc... Must have been a custom shop model. The only thing I didn't like about it was it looked like the Stealth bomber! It was all flat black. Even the back of the neck.
If there is one thing I'd change about my Cirrus, it would be to put the Hipshot A bridge on it like that bass had. I'd probably booger the thing up if I tried it though.
Oh yeah, they also had a USA Millennium 4 standard on the rack too. Light blue. They wanted $750 for it. :eyebrow:

Been a long time since I've posted a picture of the "Voodoo Bass" ...

It's a USA Peavey Foundation S that has been UH modded.

Gone are the active systen in favor of Duncan pickups and painted by a local artist in an all Voodoo theme.


;) ... And yes I used it for our Halloween gig
