Yup and Chip lightening them is being discussed in another thread right now too. LOL

AND YES the cab is still available!!!!! I must somehow get the funds up for it to grab it tomorrow as well. I am about to go through my budget and moneys and see what I can do....

AND the mud tone is out of my TX...sounds sweet now... I cranked it and had a nice practice session. I was outside on my porch though and crap is it humid right now. Me and the Squier were soaking wet by the time I decided to put it up. Got a nice clean up job ahead of me with the VMJ now...and I think its safe to say that new string sound is about gone on those strings now. LOL The palms of my hands don't sweet but the backs of my hands and backs of my fingers will badly and I got the strings soaked...oopsie...those are still its factory strings anyway to no loss I think...

Nope... it is a natural one. Maybe it is heavy, maybe I am just a pack mule?! I dunno.

I just weighed it and it is 11lbs. That isn't too bad... my regular guitar is about 9lbs! :eek: Both other basses (Ibanez and Warwick Rockbass) that I just grabbed are both a touch over 9lbs. I can't really tell the difference too much. Maybe I am just numb.

IMHO 11lbs ain't bad and DEFINITELY worth it!

I will post pics soon! Also seeing as this is the Peavey group I will get some pics of my Firebass 700 and my late 70's early 80's 2x12.

11 lbs is no big deal - 12 or 13 is though.

You have to have a freak I think. My Squier VMJ I think weighs in at 11.5 and I don't feel the weight on it. I grab the T40 and holy crap its Tylenol time. There is a marked difference in weight between the two of them. I also think part of its weight not bothering you is because you are used to it. Thats why I never noticed the weight on my VMJ until I put down the T40 and grabbed it right afterward one day.

That is probably true. After playing 4 hour sets with approx. 10lbs what is another pound among friends?! I am 6'1" and 245lbs. In the grand scheme of things it is nothing. My wife says that I am a big oaf... maybe she is right. :hiding:

^_^ Its interesting that your T40 natural doesn't weigh as much as others here (I was calling it a freak not you :p) but I think its weight shouldn't bother you. The friend I got that brownsville bat from is a way big boy and not healthy big either but none the less, my T40 is literally nothing to him though to pick up. He was surprised that he actually perceived weight on it when he hefted it though so he was impressed but other than that it didn't bother him in the slightest. Lucky him..hehe

I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. A friend at work has a T-40 that I cleaned up and adjusted the trussrod and action on. Anyway, in the process I realized that the 3-way switch was only working in front and back positions so there was no way to blend the pickups. It also made the phase switch totally useless. I did not want to tear it apart until I talked to him about it. I returned the bass to him, but he is interested in getting the switch replaced, and I realized I wasn't sure exactly what it used. I am assuming it is an ON-ON-ON DPDT, but I don't want to purchase the wrong thing. Anyone who knows please share that info.

My Peavey family continues with its shake up. I started out with my T40, two '92 Foundations (4&5 respectively) and my '87 Dyna that I Q-back tackled that night when I fell (yea I broke the switch on it but thinking back, ok it was funny LOL)

And yes I have gone on and on about doing this of that or whatever to my Foundations to get me to like them aesthetically more. But deep down I was GASing for an old headstock factory black one.....and... I GOT ONE from a great TBer!!!

Its something in the late 80s (I gotta run the serial # through later today)..black, rosewood fretboard, black headstock. The back of the neck/headstock is this real dark maple. If its possible, this Foundation has a better feel and neck then my '92s. That is just amazing since my '92s are to die for functionality wise.

My amp system is all Peavey now and Im in love. The 210TX and that cab (15"Black Widow) was still available so I grabbed it....holy mother of low end. LOL Never thought I'd /love/ any amp system Id have....I do now!!

The '92 4strings destiny was to be striped for parts. I am grabbing a breathtakingly awesome looking SX Jazz body to see if the neck will fit but I have no use for that Foundation body now. I will be parting with it and the machine heads and bridge. The pups and pots are staying as parts should either the Dyna or the black Foundation ever need something or maybe route the SX Jazz body for the pups?

If the neck fits the SX body I guess I will building a 'FrankendationX'...err.... LOL

And I looked on the back of the neck and it has two patent #s and then below is it says 'And Patent Pending'...wow I got an early one O_O.....sweet... :D

And since I just got a killer Digital camera, which enabled me to take that quick shot of my rig and foundation, give me about 20 minutes and you shall have the shot of the machine heads I have been promising you forever it seemed. Its nice not being at the mercy of my neighbors time schedule just to use their camera. ^_^

My '85 Fury and my '87 S have the 'Patent Pending' on them. The S serial number starts with 0292, so yours is probably an '86 or '87

Wow thats cool ^_^

I think Im going to do a side by side pic thing between that one and my '92 cause the '92 seems a bit different in a few ways. I think it would be interesting to have the two years side by side for a better comparison.
