Are you thinking about the JJ Millennium 5'er in Lot 187 or the Grind in Lot 179 ?

USA Grinds were active bolt on neck basses and I don't spot the extended neck after the 24th fret. Nor do I see JJ pickups,USA Grind 5's were JJ . The 4 strings had PJ set up.

I'm not 100% about the Millennium 5'er,it's passive and only passive USA Millennium I recall was the 34" PJ model. Could well be wrong about that. The back bevel on the harpoon hook suggests Chinese build 2010 or later Indonesia.

Anybody own a passive JJ USA 5'er ?

From what I read they are all customer return imports and they were returned for a reason. I also understand there is an 18% surcharge on the winning bid. Caveat Emptor.

Yeah, I miss my two Cirrus 6ers.

The 18% is a little high compared to the Antiques auctions I've been to, but given the size of the auction, maybe Peavey is only paying 2-5%. This is designed for commercial buyers.

It was hard to tell from the pictures, I thought the US Millennium was a 4 string mm/j. I wouldn't bid unless I could see them.

If it Lot 187. Top shelf is passive JJ Millennium 4 string and a Millennium AC BXP. Bottom is a Milestone III and a 5 string passive JJ Millennium.

Found this...

PUs are single coil, blade pole piece with two bar magnets at the bottom of the blade under the coil (one each side) ...

Makes sense, the guitar (T15) version of the Super Ferrite used bars and blades, as did the other T series guitar and bass pickups. The bass Super Ferrite was also used in the 1st Gen Dynabass 5 string, too.

Duh! If I had thought for a minute, I would have remembered the 5ers that sported the SF and realized it would work just fine on a 3 string. SMH

Anti-micro-tilt device - it raises the floor of the neck pocket instead of driving a log splitter into the bilaminate neck. Full details in the dedicated thread.

Oh, I totally understand the anti-neck splitter thought process. But, why a thick full sized spacer, when all you should need is a much thinner, rectangular shim at the end of the neck, to tilt it a bit.
