Man, that fretboard looks like chocolate and coffee. Really beautiful bass you have there.

I really need to get busy about posting some gear to sale in the classified section. I have another Peavey and G&L high on my list that I wanna acquire and then I'm done for a good long while.

Here is the GV I picked up here on the classifieds as well. This thing is punchy, sharp, and solid. Much thanks to MadAnthony who sold it to me. I also have two T-Series in my collection as well.

Sorry, I'm getting old. That is a beauty and I remember commenting how surprised I was that the ad lasted as long as it did. I had to flip a coin between buying that one and the one I picked up here on the classifieds:

I'd be curious to know as well. It looks like it wasn't limited to plus models as some of the standard Mills had matching headstocks.

I also saw a video where Hartly was saying that they opted to use steel truss rods and graphite stabilizers on the Mills because the birdseye maple model necks were prone to shift.

Interesting. In addition to the G's I've been looking at Milli's too and I can't quite get a grip on the whole headstock thing. Seems the painted ones most often have matching headstocks. Sometimes the figured top ones (Plus Models?) have matching headstocks. And others have Natural headstocks while others are painted black.

I'm so confused!!

I've seen some four-bangers that have them and some that don't. I wonder if Peavey had a touch of Carvin going on where buyers and dealers could get them set up and built to specifications.

Maybe somebody can chime in.

Here is an Ebay auction for a Millennium 4 J/J. The seller listed it as a Plus but it is not. It has the standard Gotoh style tuners with no drop-D. The Plus Millennium 4's have US Hipshot tuners with a drop-D on the E string.

By the way, this is a good price for a Millennium in great shape. Don't let the rare J/J configuration put you off this one. My Millennium Plus 4 is J/J and it is a killer bass that sounds fantastic.

It sounds much better than any active Fender Jazz I have tried. You must keep in mind that the PUs do not sound exactly like single coils since they are humbuckers and the active electronics lend a flavor to the tone. I will tell you this, after owning many Fender Jazz bases this Millennium is the only Jazz bass I own.

Take it to a pro repair shop. If you live in a small town with no shop, then take it to Dr. Youtube.

Saw that one as well. In my opinion - at that point...it's trash. Might as well gut the pickups, tuners, and other parts and sell them off.

Better yet, the dumb @#$% customer should have paid for the bass for being careless. I'm super picky about the condition of my instruments. No way that would have let that slide if it said anything else but Peavey on the headstock.

OUCH !!! Tough choice actually. That bass has "character" up the wazoo now. She's very road worn. The parts they added are VERY GOOD !!! I'd say for someone who wants to enter the TL-5 world but can't afford 6 bills, then this is a no brainer. Go for it.

Funny that Birdseye is coveted, but the more boring maple is more stable.

There is a SWEEEEET Foundation on GC Used for $199. A total steal. I'd buy it but I just bought one.

Also can't disagree with Richncliff at all It's been bouncing around in my head from time to time and it actually makes me feel damn proud to be a part of this family. US Peavey Club and US Peavey Cirrus Club are my "Home groups" as I've said before.

Unfortunately we’d have to know which Fender... compared to my USA PBass (dont ask why).. it’s fatter, more compressed, more articulate and a ton more fun to play.

HEADPHONES - To hear it, you may need headphones.... there is an instrumental passage at the end..

Millenium, no (if you’re describing USA)... they’re active.

I’ve never had the need to swap between active/passive.... for live, the sound crews seem to prefer active anyways (and don’t touch the settings)

I preemptively change batteries 1x per year.

When ya less than an hour from the fire zone you prepare as best you can with your most treasured items just in case the authorities demand you leave for your own protection because the bushfires are so close. I had all my music gear ready to load out my back door into my wagon, plus clothing and photos all-ready loaded. Luckily the South Australian fire-ground of the last few weeks didn't come any closer to my home. All is well.
