The top on that is insane! So those are real Block inlays on the neck? Frankly it's my least favorite thing about that bass. The rest of it kills me!
What has USPS to do with Peavey basses? Well, I indulged in something of a Peavey bass buying spree and now there are 3 basses coming to me and all were shipped USPS.
The first is a Claro Walnut Cirrus 6 that was shipped on January 2nd from North Carolina. I live in San Antonio. Original expected date of delivery was the 6th. It is now 5 days late and tracking shows "In Transit to Next Facility. Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered to its final destination. It is currently in transit to the next facility"
The second is a Palaedium shipped on January 3rd from Mississippi. Original expected date of delivery was also the 6th. It is now 4 days late and shows the same tracking message as the Cirrus.
The last is an early Foundation that was shipped on the 11th from Denver. Expected date of delivery is Monday the 13th. Would it surprise you to know that I don't have any confidence that the bass will arrive Monday?
It will be interesting to see if a bass shows up next week. I once waited a full month for a Roscoe 6 to arrive when it was shipped USPS. It was in perfect condition when it did arrive so I assume somewhere along the way it just sat for 3 weeks or so because someone didn't want to deal with a larger package. I guess I will just have to play one of my 8 other Peavey basses until the new ones arrive.

A fairly clean Gen 1 TL5 is on Reverb. The battery cover is broken but it looks to be in nice condition. Price is a little high IMO.

I have both of those on my watch list. Nice basses but yeah the black one is a little pricey.
So I have a Millennium Plus that should be shipping today and hope to close a deal finally on a G Bass in the next week or two. I think the next one needs to be a 5 String. What do you guys think, GV, Millennium 5 or a Cirrus.
The Peacock Blue Millenium Plus that was on Reverb. Not as stunning as that purple one but a much better price.
And of course as I'm wrapping that up I got a message from a TB'er offering a G bass at a good price as well. Just have to wait for next weeks gig for the rest of the cash. I use my gig money to support my gear habit. Keeps the complaining down!

Peavey neck wrapped with carbon. Basswood body with Millenium shape. 1 VFL, Cirrus preamp minus the bland pot.
Got released 1997 for $699 MRP if my memory is correct.
I wonder how much of the neck is wrapped in carbon fiber? It would be cool if there was a demo neck cut in half.
It's not too thick. easy way to tell is if you remove a tuner.
Depending on how easy it is to dig out I could get you a photo.
Reckon the G-bass was testing the waters as the spec on the G-V bass is much higher.

Allowing for finish it's about 2mm, almost 90/10. Enough wood for the tone folks with the added strength of the carbon.

You probably won't feel so sorry for me when I tell you that I bought a nearly pristine 1985 Foundation yesterday. I have spent the morning working on it. It needed some TLC but is now playing and sounding lovely.
That's nice! A custom 62 Blue with rosewood AND matching headstock! I had an '89 Generation Standard in that color.
Most of my instruments are black, so this blue guitar starts rearing it's head and the wife busted me. "I know you haven't had that one for years..." I flipped it, which was 60% of my intention from the jump-though I really wanted to keep it as I do love Teles. I don't need any more basses, and I absolutely don't need any more guitars!

Yup ! Someone had it made like that and like an IDIOT I sold it. Had I known about the Ebay sale, I'd been the owner again. I remember thinking that it would never replace my Cirrus, so why keep it. Dumb...
