I have a black 85 Dynabass. I bought it because...
1. It popped up for a steal on eBay.
2. I love my Foundation(s), and this is part of that family.
3. It was black.
It's really killer, weighs in at 8#12oz, plays so smooth and sounds amazing both passively and actively. Plus, black with black hardware, black matching headstock and dark rosewood board is murderriffic! It's actually cooler than the Foundation in many ways, but I'm an active lover.
I played it as it was for a gig or two, but since I already have a 72 Jazz with a J Retro and an El Toro, I really didn't need another 4 string active J type bass. Decided to set it up BEAD (with green DR strings) and use it for those songs that need the low B in the 80s cover band (and keep the instruments legit and from the 80s). I kind of want to get a 5 string Dyna from the same era, but I know it has probably the narrowest string spacing ever seen, so it would only be a trophy bass, not a player, per se... :)

Hey guys, within the past few weeks I read something on here about a problem with the Millennium preamp and battery drain. I have a Millennium USA that has chewed through a set of batteries in about three weeks with maybe an hour of play time, and I'd like to know if anyone can help me tell my tech where he should start looking for the problem. I'm hoping it's something as simple as replacing the jack!

I see where it's missing a knob but I don't see any rash on the front unless your counting that bad light smudge on the top horn. It definitely has some buckle dings on the back.

I think I paid about $425 for mine. It was at a local music pawn shop and I just couldn't resist the color. I went back 2 or 3 times before I pulled the trigger. Though I'm still pretty much a newbie when it comes to playing so I can't really give you much of a review. It goes well with my black Foundation though.

You have an El Toro???? That's my unicorn bass! As for narrow string spacing, my L5000 easily has the narrowest spacing for a fiver.

However, I'm really digging my new Peavey's.

While I had no real issue w/ the stock pickups, I just put Dimarzio Model P pickups in my 1992 Fury, hoping for just a tad bit more. They sound awesome and just what I was looking for. Stock pickups had that typical, slight buzz or hum and these do not. GHS pressurewound strings and this is now an absolute killer P-Bass! First time I've went with a color other than black, which had me worried a bit at first, but I think the creme w/ nickel pole pieces fits this bass and the color well.

I hear that! I'd love to get an El Toro or even more an Interceptor!
Basically the same electronics with different wood wrapped around them. I've looked at a couple Interceptors but both have had jacked up necks. I don't care much about condition per se but it needs to be complete and the neck must be good. Anything else I can fix or deal with myself.

Took my Millennium out again last night along with my favorite 5 string a G&L L2500. The G&L never made it off the stand. I love playing this it's really fun and versatile. Glad I finally got on board with one of these. Now I need to save up some more gig money and find a 5 string to my liking. Either a Millennium or Cirrus, maybe a GV.

What the hell. All three will do nicely!

I love Dimarzio pickups! If you want something other than a fender vibe that's the way to go. The have their own thing going on and sound fantastic. I like ducan quarter pounders for pbass but they still have a fender sound, just louder I'll be that's a monster pbass.

Is that a Gen 2 pickguard on that Gen 3 body?
