So far for me...it's all about the condition of the bass. If taken care of and loved; I would be willing to pay a modest and fair asking price. I found a Fury in my neck of the woods and thought it might be a good buy. Looks like the pickguard needs to be replaced and no shots of the back.

EDIT: This might be a better option than the B-Ninety. Things have a way of sometimes working out for the better.

I contacted the guy about this one. He was pretty slow on the reply and really hard to get a meeting time and place negotiated. He also ignored my questions on the frets, truss rod, what's on the pickguard, etc...
I don't really need another bass, but if I can meet up with him and it checks out, it would get set up and possibly a different electronics package dropped in. It would then stay at the practice space to save hauling around an extra instrument. It's priced fairly for a Fury at the end of their US run--there were a lot of cost cutting measures taken on these-the hardware is downgraded from previous generations and the pickup may be the Korean version. I kind of liken these to a nice Squier/MIM/MIK bass. Nonetheless, it's still a Peavey!

It's all up to who can lock this guy down first!

I know! This particular ad is like a virtual garage sale: here is what it is and the price. I really don't like having to draw the answers/details/meeting times out of a seller. It's not hard to offer up that info and see what works for the buyer.
Granted, I would be pretty easy. I only need to give it a quick visual inspection, turn the truss rod (5/32" allen wrench already in hand with a 4mm backup), turn the tuners, play a couple notes and that's that. The electronics can be easily fixed or replaced--I don't care to plug it in.
Literally takes me 1 minute to inspect the bass and decide if I'm buying or not. I have already spend 7 times that amount of time going back and forth with the guy via email and I'm no closer to knowing the condition of the bass nor when I can meet up with him. arg!

Coming from the G&L camp (a.k.a - no-frills), I have mixed emotions.

Right now, my Millennium has the nicest finish of all the basses in my stable. I thought the Plus designation was based on hardware instead of the finish. I was under the impression that a buyer could get any finishes he wanted and didn't have to pay an upcharge into another model for colors. I thought the Jazz models were standard by default based on hardware.

That's how it felt when I purchased that green Mill off of Ebay and why it sat for so long. I contacted that seller back in early November and didn't hear back until the 2nd week of January. I asked if everything was functional and original and I was told "yes".

Low and behold - everything works but, the neck was bowed and needed serious attention. They included the original manual and sales receipt and I found out I paid $25 less than what they did brand new. Ouch! Only I got to inherit all the issues on the back end and they recouped what they spent. I think they got that one at the dealer cost because I was shocked how much they paid for it back in 2006. If it weren't for the fact that (A) it was the color I wanted, (B) came with a case with candy, and (C) sounded good - I would've sent it back.

There was a good reason the nut and bridge were set up the way they were. It arrived tuned two octaves down, so the neck looked really good before being tuned to concert. Good thing I love that bass. Live and learn.

I don't mind doing a mild setup and don't mind a fixer-upper as long as everything is accurately described. I chuckled because I asked the guitar center rep if the neck on the B-Ninety was bowed or warped. "Nope, just needs a good set of strings and everything works." I end up with a warped/bowed neck with a large side of faulty electronics. For $120, I would've kept it.

Humm. Well I have owned about 6 Stingrays and they all left. I've owned several USA Lakland basses and they all left. The Millenniums suit me better.

I guess I would have to say that the Millennium basses sound more...full....round and less snarl than a Stingray. That said, the Millennium 5 I play the most has TI flats on it and my 4 string has LaBella flats on it. Perhaps with bright roundwound strings they would sound more like a Stingray.

I have a lifer Stingray Classic. But, the 3-band preamp equipped Rays have all come and gone. As for US Laklands, I absolutely love them! So.... the wait for the right Millenium begins.

As much as you guys watch... it will be hard for me to get the Milly and Cirrus that I want, when they pop up. For the record, I want Birdseye maple and prefer 4 strings. But, a Cirrus 5 would be tempting.

Come closer.... so I can kick you too LOL! That’s less than half what I’ve paid for my 4-94s.

Yeah, you should have jumped! I have serial number 11 which is the first tealburst built and nitro lacquer finished. It’s crackled up like a 60s Fender. I also have another 1st year 4-94 that is still new, about 4 hours of play time, a time capsule piece.

I'm definitely with you on the Birdseye maple neck. They look sweet. When I get some cash saved up again its time for a 5. Millennium, Cirrus or GV.

That a tough one for me. It would either be a GV four banger or a Cirrus. Although I want a Cirrus in the non traditional manner like @PeaveyPlayer Cirrus bass. Solid color with a bolt on 35 scale neck. I'd even take on in a cool transparent red or green finish with black hardware.

The V in GV is for FIVE. If you want a "GV four banger", what you want is a G bass. Those were pretty different from the GV though. Totally different pickup, only one, the same preamp minus the pickup blend.
