Nice! And since distributed AC power hadn't been invented yet, there's no annoying 60 cycle hum with the J-pickup!
It looks pretty good and is worth the price. Some possible concerns are the non original truss rod cover and no mention of a case. It may have one so if you are interested in it give them a call and ask as there may be a case.
So that's why historians refer to the late 1800's to early 1900's as the Gilded Age. Good to know.
USA Peavey Pricing is interesting.

Prices on US Peavey basses are certainly going up. Cirrus basses that we were paying $700 for just two years ago now have asking prices in the $1200-$1400 range. I'm not sure any are selling but the sellers are listing them pretty high.
There is still the occasional bargain to be had. You have to watch for them because they are bought soon after they are listed.
I've been looking for US 5 string Cirrus and Millenniums. Not many out there at the moment and the Cirrus basses have a pretty big ask. There is a light gold Mill Plus 5 on Reverb (been there a couple months) just not sure how much I like the color.
I own 2 Millennium 5's and paid $600 for the last one that has a tiger eye top on it. If I understand correctly, a Millennium "Plus" has a figured maple top and a finish that allows you to see the figure....not an opaque finish. IMO he is asking too much for that bass. Be patient and wait and a better one will pop up.
I am still looking for a Millennium Plus 5 with a pau ferro fingerboard. The ones I have are maple....not my favorite fingerboard wood.

I think the ask is on the high side as well. I really do like the Birdseye neck with the abalone fret dots though.
And yeah, I am waiting. Sooner or later what I want will pop up. Have to save some more gig money up anyway, spent the last of what I had tucked away on my G Bass.

I cant get the neck where I want it on the B-Ninety, so this one is going back. I was ready to order replacement pickups and a bridge but the neck sat way too long with a forward bow.
I'm sure I could put a little bit more elbow grease into it but, I'm not in love with it like the Mill 4 I picked up a couple of weeks ago. To never have loved is to never have lost.

You folks will need to forgive my ignorance concerning Peaveys on the used market. I was prepared to make an offer on that Gold one as well and thought it would have been worth the asking price if the condition was reflected in the condition.
So far for me...it's all about the condition of the bass. If taken care of and loved; I would be willing to pay a modest and fair asking price. I found a Fury in my neck of the woods and thought it might be a good buy. Looks like the pickguard needs to be replaced and no shots of the back.

Humm. Well I have owned about 6 Stingrays and they all left. I've owned several USA Lakland basses and they all left. The Millenniums suit me better.
I guess I would have to say that the Millennium basses sound more...full....round and less snarl than a Stingray. That said, the Millennium 5 I play the most has TI flats on it and my 4 string has LaBella flats on it. Perhaps with bright roundwound strings they would sound more like a Stingray.

Well I'm new to the nicer US Peaveys market, I just felt if it had a nicer top with a trans finish it would be worth closer to that. I didn't feel like with the solid color paint it was worth his ask. I've looked at it a bunch too.
Used to own a 55-02 and it was a very nice bass but in the end I couldn't get quite what I wanted out of it. I think the Millennium gets much closer to the Stingray sound.
Coming from the G&L camp (a.k.a - no-frills), I have mixed emotions.
Right now, my Millennium has the nicest finish of all the basses in my stable. I thought the Plus designation was based on hardware instead of the finish. I was under the impression that a buyer could get any finishes he wanted and didn't have to pay an upcharge into another model for colors. I thought the Jazz models were standard by default based on hardware.
Here is an exert of the options from the manual:
Must be a USA phenomenon,certainly not the case in Europe. 7-8 year back folks were paying £400- £450 for T40's,still paying that now. I've never paid more than £500 for a Cirrus so wasn't best pleased on seeing a maple top Cirrus sell for £410 end of Nov. That's most recent Cirrus sale I'm aware of.
Other models fare no better. Fella I know has been trying to move his 2nd gen Fury and a Dynabass. 6 months and not 1 bit of interest.
I've been in a huge Peavey surge as of late and have been revisiting all my PV bass pre's, tube amp, and cabs as of late. I highly recommend the MAX pre if anyone hasn't tried it yet. It's an outstanding preamp.
