Ahh but maybe you can, fill in MM lettering with Flexseal until harden or cured then sand to smooth surface then design your own. I have not tried this but just thinking out loud.

In the meantime, I've had in my office a Musicman Sterling 4 case that I grabbed for a bass I had briefly and flipped before the case got to me. I was always going to sell it but never got around to it.

If I could only get rid of that embossed Musicman logo!

If we were in the same town, I would have traded you for that MM case!

I've NEVER seen this Dyna bass generation before ! It STILL has the plastic on the covers !!!! OMG !!!!! The store has TWO of them !!!! Like NOS ! (new old stock)

There a very understated bass. I prefer this config (dyna, tl etc) over ferrites.

Ha, I'm not going to argue there. The Peavey bags are pretty flimsy, I just wanted to share because of the logo.
We use parts from VPC (Virginia Panel Corporation) at work, their bags are Really nice. Digikey bags are good also.

It looks like the predecessor to the Axcelerator. I know for me, it's a TOUGH choice. You said you prefer this configuration over the ferrites. I love the ferrites for that growl, Ric, Geddy tone. Also, I love the VFL's for the smooth, recording studio quality sound they so freely give ; I love BOTH

I've been thinking of picking up a Patriot lately. I'm kinda guessing its like a more aggressive P Bass. Does that sound about right?

I used mine on a session last weekend, and that pretty much nails the description; not quite as bassy, though. With the tone up, it's a lot like a soloed Jazz bridge pickup with more low end. The P characteristics appear more as you roll the tone off. Pickup height makes a difference as this Super Ferrite is very hot. In any case, the neck is fantastic.

Definitely aggressive and sort of raw, the same way the Foundation is.
Different from a split P pickup.
A single coil sound but thicker and more aggro than the single coils in a Jazz bass.
The same way a Les Paul with a P90 is more raw than the more smooth standard Les Paul humbuckers.
Some of the YouTube videos capture the Patriot sound pretty accurately.
I think the Patriot sounds very good.

Besides the great necks on the USA Peavey basses, the appeal for me is that their bass pickup designs sound unique, not really like anything else out there.
The Super Ferrite Foundation/Dyna, the Patriot Bass, T-20, T-40, and T45 all sound different than offerings from any other brand.

There were a few during this short period. It was kind of the gateway into the premium and signature models. I had a stellar Blue one (sounded and felt great). Only reason it left was it was blue.
