Hey!
Didn't occur to me to say hi here.
My first bass was my father's bright red peavey patriot (1986 or 1987, I forget). I still play it, now it has flats on it. When I was young and naïve I assumed it was crappy because it was his starter instrument, but as I've grown I've come to love it more and more.
I'm looking into a refin 1984 foundation right now. Since these aren't exactly vintage fenders as far as collector value goes, I'm assuming a refin would have a smaller ding in terms of value. The refin looks cool to me (basically silver mirror) but the finish isn't exactly in pristine shape. Plenty of scratches on the back. It should play fine (I'll verify that myself tonight). How big a ding should the price take?
