Welp, round 2 of trying to fit a new neck to my slant fury, I picked up that maple foundation neck that was on eBay with the titan style tuners for 80+tax shipped. The patriot neck I had gotten in April had a squarer heel than my fury would accommodate, and I’d hate to carve down a genuine neck in playable shape for my Frankenstein projects. Hopefully the “new” neck fits and isn’t a nightmare to set up. My current foundation is a 91, one of those transition years where they moved away from the high gloss necks and nicer hardware, but kept the super ferrites, so I’m looking forward to spending some time with a “real” foundation neck. If it doesn’t pan out on my fury, I’ll probably try to hunt down a decent era-correct body and swap over the electronics from my 91. I like that bass a lot, and it brought me into this world of peavey, but it’s always left me wanting a bit more in terms of playability and stability. I was probably 13 or 14 when I got it, around 10 years ago, and I definitely think I’ve come to expect more of my guitars in that time.
