EXACTLY !!! I've noticed sometimes GC actually does the right thing and under promises and over delivers. This way there are no disappointments. I LOVE the white bass with black hardware. It looks FANTASTIC. Someone got lucky and I HOPE it was one of our beloved Peavey TB'ers.

I would have pulled the trigger as soon as I saw it. ...not that I need a second Patriot.
Glad I missed it....sort of :angel:

I saw that....It seems weird....if he is a huge foundation collector he should be telling us when things changed. He should document by serial number and features....then we could fill in the blanks if there are any. I was going to weigh in but it seemed more work than it was worth.

I wondered the same thing but I didn't think it was worth calling him out on it.

Well, I put the speed knobs back on the '87 Mahogany Foundation. I tries a couple other knobs I had around the house and they didn't look right. I even bought and tried a set of Jazz bass knobs. They look pretty good, but not quite right. So the speed knobs went back on to stay. I thought one was mismatched, but actually it was just that the rubber ring had come off. Fortunately I found an exact matching knob with ring still intact in my box of parts.

So in my box of parts I now have one speed knob and one ring, not attached to each other. The ring slips off easily so it needs to be attached somehow. Anyone done this and can recommend a method that works reliably?

I don't need the knob now, but may someday. Might as well fix it.

Off the top of my head.....
a small flat rubber band to increase the diameter of the knob ever so slightly?
tiny tiny strip of double sided tape?
I'm thinking no glue of any kind.
just my two cents, please let us know what fix you end up with.
PS: love the speed knobs. Here's mine bye the way.

Seller said it was a '93 but looking at that date chart above it might actually be a '94?
serial # is 0651xxxx and the pups are super ferrites.

Ive done a quick boil on rubber drive belts to shrink/re-round them before, might be worth a shot. Probably around 20-30 seconds, no more than a minute.

That would have come with the chrome dome top knobs. I love the look of the speed knobs on it.
