It has the speed knobs, but looks like the grips have fallen off. Might replace them with a nicer wiring setup and some chrome domes, but maybe that’s getting ahead of myself lol

I'm looking for a body to pair with US Cirrus 5 neck (35 inch scale bolt-on Cirrus). I'm sure Millenium5/GV neck pockets won't fit. Are there any other options? I find Cirrus body shape most comfortable for me.

@PeaveyPlayer is on the ball here, a custom body might be easier.
Mech and I discussed this very topic for months. The seldom spotted USA Grind has the same neck pocket.
Those things cost $300+, an expensive option if just for a body.
You could always buy a Cirrus BXP, remove the neck and cut a pocket into it. A fair bit of work involved but at least you get the correct shape.

Gee yea, I guess that serial does put it at 91. Strange, my fretted 91 has a completely different headstock and body shape, so I wonder if they were still working through some earlier stock of built fretless necks, but that doesn’t explain the older body shape... I’ve never seen a fretless foundation with that transition script headstock, now that I think about it... that transitional 89-93 era sure is a head scratcher sometimes, huh

Interesting, the things that make you say hmmm. For reference and fun, here's my 2 FL's Sunburst '86 and Black '85... The Black came with the speed knobs.
Maybe its the lighting, but your burst looks a lot redder than mine a lot yellower? Worth noting mine has the bar string retainer (i think those were introduced in 89?) where as yours still has the triangle. I havent heard back on any of my peavey customer service emails in awhile, but i'd love to get the rundown on this serial, if it is in fact a 91.
...come to think of it I think mine is "Dark Red Burst" finish, although I don't recall where I got that information...
Yeah, it's hard to say for sure, but who knows what Peavey was using up at the time. The triple string tree and single ply truss rod cover is very 1991. Here's my 1991 Dyna 5. It shares many same features--old body shape, same style headstock logo (big name, little Peavey), serial number on mine starts with 048...
Bleecker, how long have you had that black '85? I sold mine on Reverb 2.5 years ago to someone in Niskayuna, NY, which isn't far from Elizabethtown. It's a dead ringer for yours-even the knobs and gig bag look like they match up, from what I can tell and remember. Peavey made dozens to hundreds of black fretless Foundations in 85... but I just wonder if you have my old bass! Here's a link to my old sale page. Mine also is a 1991 Dyna 5 and identical to yours bigtone23 although the only difference seems to be the triple string tee, also mine is missing the pin striping around the headstock, stacked knobs also..although my serial number also denotes a 1991 issue as it starts with 0512 and going by Peavey dating for 1991 both our basses fall in that 1991 range. (0440xxxx t/m 0519xxxx=1991)
