I think I have seen them before...I got a lot of originals though...
There were some last year without the "P", those were pricey around $12 each. This fella is doing 4 for $20 .
No need for them myself but its a great idea for weight reduction.
I could't sell them for that low of a price...I'm also into original stuff. I also have a hard time with three-four knobs reducing the weight enough to notice when hanging the bass from your shoulder with a nice wide strap. Think about where the weight is on a T-40. No body cutaways huge steel bridge, steel nut, steel tuners, yes steel knobs but take them off and you still have a really heavy bass. MHO is all.

Pickups weigh 1lb as do the tuners,knobs add 1/4lb.
BTW bridge and knobs are die-cast not steel .

Neck and body----7 pounds
Bridge-------------1 pound
Pickups------------2 pounds
Tuners-------------1 pound
Knobs, pots, switches, jack, tree, neck plate, screws, pickguard--1 pound.
There ya go. 12 pounds!
When I put a T45 neck on a Foundation body, it was just a touch over 8 pounds. Then routed out the Foundation body for the T pickups, and the bass gained a pound of weight (Super Ferrites are 1/2 pound each). Same with the P knobs vs the original plastic speed knobs, gained 4 ounces. Put a Grover Titan Hipshot extender on the low E string. Now the bass is 9 pounds, 6 ounces. Not bad at all, but it got much heavier with those T parts.

Wow, Chuck, you're really cleaning house. This must be one heck of a bass you got your sights on.
It is a bit pricey and worth it. I've needed to reduce my collection and this opportunity gave me the incentive. The 4 string Millennium is superb...and I almost never play 4 string bass. The GV kills...but so does my Cirrus 5...they sound very close to the same. The Cirrus 6 is a delightful bass but so are my Bubinga and Wenge top 6's. See what I mean?
It is time to move these beauties to guys who will play them.

I'm still partial to the cast "P" knobs. Yes they're heavy but just for friendly discussion... Strap on the T-40, play it a bit, then remove the knobs and strap it back on...huge? Lol
Also they're nice and durable. I have recently learned that certain Fender "F" knobs are going for $275 a pair (reverb) and they're plastic and the F logo comes off! I have a JBS that has 3 knobs on it with 2 missing the "F"... So one is worth $135, the other two $15!... where the heck did they go!?!
Another thing we all know, if our going to play Rock n Roll you have to make some sacrifices, along with wild hair cuts and crazy cloths or lack there-of, bass players have to deal with weight...look at Gene Simmons!
Anyway enough ranting...Its really too bad the T-40 is so heavy, its such an outstanding instrument otherwise.

Yeah - they are heavy, but if Peavey would have made them any different they would not sound as good. I think the old heavy 70's p bass sound better than the newer ones.
Your bass really looks nice also. That's my 2 cents.

Got my foundation FL in today... packing was a bit suspect but everything seems ok. It's dirty. Like, REALLY dirty. But that's nothing some elbow grease won't fix. It also needs a big ol' shim to compensate that big ol' Badass bridge (the previous owner apparently put in a popsicle stick lmao). I'll probably spend a couple days getting it up to snuff, and hopefully making it play well won't be an ordeal. Looks like it lived life with rounds on it, with some pretty noticeable string wear, especially on the E. It looks like the side fret marker for the 3rd fret is actually peeking out into the fingerboard a hair due to that E string wear, so idk how i feel about that... Anyways, ill post pics when it's showroom ready lol, wish me luck!
The saddles on the Badass 1 aren't really the issue, its the massive baseplate. Might end up replacing it and trying to find a trapezoid if I really feel like it's hindering the bass, but I'll give it a go.

I usually don’t buy in on the “high mass” thing, but I put a badass 3 on my Fender Zone, and it really gave that bass some life, so I suppose everything has its use case scenario.

The reality is the USA peavey stuff is extremely consistent and well engineered.
I can not claim the same stuff for my USA fenders
