I resisted the urge to buy those just because I would custom paint them. Then what would I do with my cool metal P knobs? Not gonna sell them, no! haha

I was thinking my next bass would be a millennium, but I played a G bass a couple months ago and really liked it. Very comfortable to play. The huge flake sparkle on black was unsettling, maybe a plain white one is better. Green would be good.
I would have a hard time resisting a green GV at a great price.
I will post pictures tomorrow..I did some looking and found nothing of the chainsaw case in brown for the T-20 bass.
I've never had the pleasure to play one. I bet t would sound good through that Mesa rig!

Guy I know in Glasgow has a small guitar parts business, during lockdown I provided some PGs to expand his range. It was only after I'd sold a 3rd gen Fury that I thought to ask if he'd like Peavey parts too.
Started with this T40 PG, also sent him a Foundation control cavity cover and one for a Grind.
Just plain versions were sent so I could check the parts fit, they do
Also sent him a TR cover
Here it is side by side with original on the right, stacked and from the side so you can see the curve.
No idea on timing for availability or prices but I'll keep folks informed.

I've done some searching without much luck. Has anyone ever put a pick guard on a Foundation? I've always liked the color contrast that a pick guard provides. On the other hand,the Foundation is a nice looking instrument without it. Anyway, was just wondering if anyone has done it, or knows of anyone. Pics would be great.
Axcelerator PG might fit the later Foundations. If I get the chance I'll try it and post a photo.
@iriegnome love those clunky molded cases, ugly but they really do a great job protecting instruments.
I have never seen one of the brown cases for this bass. Only in newer ones. Fury’s and Foundation’s
I really like those cases, too. They do their job perfectly.
I wonder what the backstory is on the brown case. Was it a request from Peavey? Was the manufacturer out of black pigment? It seems to be a fairly short blip on the chainsaw case history.
I sent a message to Peavey with that same question. Also, partly hoping someone here could help answer that

Contour Cases ("Chainsaw") were offered as an upcharge sale. Note, there were different interior layouts... so some some body styles are too pointy.. some are too short etc. I was told the fur lined were sold to go with premium finishes (sienna burst etc).
I used to hoard them like a cat lady.
When on the road, we used to pitch them out of hotel balconies to see how far they'd bounce. We learned the rounded bass versions bounced and protected better. I never had instrument damage from any of my antics.
NOTE: If your grey open cell foam has turned messy, water and a rag will remove the residue (no need to use solvents).

I also really like the rounded chainsaw cases for transport and storage. They easily slip in and out of my storage area, where I keep my instruments in cases and upright. You can just grab the case and tip it out of the line up, vs having to slide the rectangular style cases out.
Think my dislike for them is pretty well known.
Good news is my torment is nearly over, just one of those infernal devices left in the house
Last few bass buyers have been besides themselves with joy when I dropped "ships in OHSC" into the conversation
Bass storage is a cupboard over the stairs and I no longer worry about the floor above giving way from excess weight
This kind of stuff really makes me shake my head in bewilderment - I can only assume it was a family member of someone who died or something. What SANE person would donate this ?
FYI - I HATE the Goodwill and have caved in and bought stuff that was BROKEN upon arrival hence it was donated. NO return policy, etc.
