I agree, Looks like it was Red originally and repainted black. Then it looks like that was beat up and the bass sat outside for a while soaking up some dust and dirt.
Yeah that's a bit puzzling. Did Peavey release basses with headstocks and bodies painted different colors? Does that neck belong to that body? The pickguard looks busted, too.
Worst of all, for me anyway, are the black Titans. I've had five old Peaveys with those. Four of those five basses had tuners with stripped gears. Only one bass had all four black Titans functioning properly, but that bass was virtually unplayed when I got it. Was it just bad luck, or is there something about that black finish that wears badly?
On the upside, anyone who wants that thing may be able to inspect it before paying for it..."maybe".
