I agree, Looks like it was Red originally and repainted black. Then it looks like that was beat up and the bass sat outside for a while soaking up some dust and dirt.

Yeah that's a bit puzzling. Did Peavey release basses with headstocks and bodies painted different colors? Does that neck belong to that body? The pickguard looks busted, too.

Worst of all, for me anyway, are the black Titans. I've had five old Peaveys with those. Four of those five basses had tuners with stripped gears. Only one bass had all four black Titans functioning properly, but that bass was virtually unplayed when I got it. Was it just bad luck, or is there something about that black finish that wears badly?

On the upside, anyone who wants that thing may be able to inspect it before paying for it..."maybe".

You're too kind. I hate my videos, hence so few of them. It's SO much harder than it looks. Some people make it look so easy. I guess playing bass is like porn.

I have no editing software or audio interfaces or anything (the only computer I have is one issued by my employer, so I can't use it for anything personal)

Whenever I make a video, I'll have to do 1 take playing through my amp and record on my phone. It's probably not going to sound great regardless of the playing....

Yes, my G Bass had DR coated roundwounds.
Not sure what you mean by tone change, I would guess the G Basses came with roundwounds.

That certainly ticks the boxes. Couple other things...
--Tuscon AZ, so it's acclimated to the dry climate that I reside. Pro!
--Super beat, looks like a refin over red? I like natural relics that tell a story, though. Neutral!
--Local pickup only. 12-15 hour drive from here. Hard Con!
--Has a changed out pickup. May sound good, may not. I have pickups. Neutral!
I'd say it's a soft pass.

I wonder if they ever used red as a base coat for the black since the HS is black. Just a thought. I have a beat up black one and I don't see any red...I don't know.

GC has a black Foundation for $199.
Looks to be in good shape, dirty but not beat up.
Earlier generation with the nicer body shape.
Parts are all stock.

I'd think any time someone made a hash of a solid colour it was hidden under a layer of black. .

I don't know how to edit, and adding the text was done by chance LOL. I don't know if I could do it again on purpose. Also, I like what I play when I'm jamming, but when I go to put it on "film" and it's not a worked out part, I think I suck. I just haven't spent enough time doing it. Recording audio for a CD is totally different, to me. That I LOVE. I think I just get camera shy. But thanks, brother.

Still does but cant get those smokin' green ones anymore. Black Beauties on it now.

Actually I think the answer is yes to the question about different color headstocks, specifically black. I've seen more than a few late 80's Foundations with a white body or red body with black painted headstocks. I'm sure there are other colors as well with black headstocks and I've seen too many to think they were neck swaps.

My Foundation S "Custom" came with the Titans on it and they have never given me any trouble. I had another Foundation (oddly enough white with a black headstock) that had Black Titans on it. Those worked fine as well.

Here's a well used / kind of abused Patriot for sale near me. In addition to the listed issues, the seller advised that it's choking out on the top frets. This sounds like the dreaded ski jump effect from overtightening the neck bolts on the micro-tilt. But it could be a good project if the neck is salvageable.

What's the thought on the gold Forum AX on 'verb? 2Tek, 4 knobs... something doesn't add up. Custom? Rarity/proto? I'm a fan of Forums, but not an expert. Just looks unique.
