That is too wild. Mine is the exact same color! Even down to the brushed hardware.
Now that you said that, I think we had this conversation last summer. Ha!
I have bought from this guy, he does a great job cleaning them up... I discovered him on CL Philly (my sister lives there so I browse there) then found him on r'verb.
It looks like a sweet bass. Looks like a Foundy, what are the differances?

Pickup placement is different. Where neck is bolted to the body is slanted instead of square. And if I recall the neck profile is a bit different. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will know.
Ebony fingerboard, quad coil humbuckers, controls are master vol, blend and tone. The neck PU is closer to the neck.
The tone is quite different from a Foundation. The Palaedium has a strong jazz bass style growl.
Has anyone here ever replaced a t-40 neck? I know this is a stretch but, a fender 1 5/8 at the nut precision neck might have the same taper style?

the peavey t-40 was created to be a working persons instrument and I find it unfortunate the price has quadrupled. It has always been the go to pawn shop bass to get things done. Now they go for over a thousand. Anyway, complaining on a thread.

Couple of questions
1- how good are your woodworking skills?
2 - have you brought your failing neck to a woodworker?
I'd lean toward having a luthier or woodworker glue up your current neck.
I haven't done it personally, but I'm pretty sure I heard of a success story here in town with a T40 body and a MIM Fender '51 P bass neck. The T40 is a pretty rare bird in the Peavey bass world with the 20 fret neck (just like a typical, old school Fender). The trick is to make sure the heel dimensions match up.
It's the way of gear that was once sort of uncool, but quality built. Over time, the quality wins out and they start getting snapped up. Seems the T40 found a niche in the Doom and sludgy genres.
It was earlier this century and you couldn't spend more than $200 on any used American made Peavey bass, other than the ones that were never 'uncool' like the Cirrus. Oh well, even at $300-400, an early 80s Foundation or Fury is still a bargain for what you get, IMNSHO.
This one came in last week! The nut was broken on arrival, so a custom bone nut has been installed. I also put in a stereo jack for added stability. The neck/frets are a little humpy in the 3-6 area, so I think it’ll probably need the frets glued and leveled since I’m just getting more buzz on the first fret than I can tolerate. Still, innit purdy?

Thanks! I've definitely amassed more than I ever expected to, especially in the last couple years. Sad thing is, there's still plenty on my list I'd like to get my hands on. I'd love to snag a rosewood board patriot, a rosewood board foundation (an 80s one in a cool color to replace my 91 in fisher price red), and maybe even a paladium if I come across the right one at the right time! I'm admittedly less stoked on the later active offerings from peavey, like my soapbar forum, but my axcelerator with the 2tek is an absolute dream to play, so that one will definitely stick around!
