U.S. Peavey Club

I try to keep my Peavey bass collecting to a minimum, ...because it is too easy to accumulate Peavey basses.
They come cheap and many of them are in great condition and fully functional with very little wear and tear.
If I don't really want one, or I lose interest in it for some reason, then I sell it asap.
That is why I sold my beautiful blue Foundation to Chuck M who sold it to Thundar recently.
I don't care for a Foundation, don't need the bridge pickup and a Slant Fury or a Patriot will serve me just fine for a Super Ferrite bass.
Sold my G Bass to TinIndian because a 35" scale bass is not a comfortable neck for me, so no need to hold onto it just because it's a cool bass.
Not sure why I still have three split P Fury basses, but one is going to get a Thunderbird pickup in it where the split P pickup has been removed.

And I appreciate that G Bass too! It came out with me on New Years with my Millennium. Love It!

The red one is from the very late 90s possibly 2000s. One piece neck like a Mexican fender. White is definitely smack in the middle of the 90s

That blue foundation though. And I just saw that it has been passed down 2x.

Think of me if you decide to let it go and I hope I have access to the funds.

I think the super ferrite foundations are my favorite. I've never played a slant fury patriot or t20. Just the 94ish fury I have not had for 20 years, and the 91 and 92 I have now, 91 being the last of the pinstripe 5 wire and 92 having the 3 wire which I find to be more aggressive. But that 92 neck profile is now what I wish all my peaveys had. The 92 foundation had the cheaper bridge, but I can live with that. An 85-91 body with a 92 neck would be sweet. I'm broke so I take what gets offered cheap when I am lucky enough to be looking.

That blue though. Every blue peavey I have seen with that shade of blue looks really cool. And a matching headstock. I would live with slightly thicker neck just for that

That Milly 5 plus is awesome. What is that finish? Tobacco burst?

Thanks guys! Most of these Peavey purchases were all your fault!
@smogg Yes the Milly 5 is tobacco sunburst, and it was the first Peavey I had bought in about 20 years, and it was almost not a keeper. After I sold the Stingray5, I snagged the Milly5 off of Facebook Marketplace for a sweet deal, but when I received it, it was a bit of a mess...the maple fretboard was REALLY dirty, the strings were awful, deader than dead, the pots were snap, crackle & pop, and had a few other small issues. But luckily, I have a buddy who works magic, and he took it all apart, cleaned everything, sprayed the pots, slapped on a new set of DR Black Beauties, set it up, and BAM! I now had a "Stingray Slayer" :laugh:
@58kites Thank you, and @Chuck M for taking such great care of the blue Foundation, it is an amazingly mint bass, especially for its age, and is the sweetest "non-jazz" jazz bass ever!
@ubernator I will definitely keep you in mind if I ever lose my mind and sell it :D
I believe it was Chuck that brought the red Dyna5 and the TL5 to my attention, and @The Bass Abides who turned me on to the red Patriot...like I said before, I am a sucker for a matching headstock, and at $199...well that was the fastest bass-buying decision I have ever made! And it turns out, that Patriot was the biggest surprise of all...it plays and sounds amazing, the neck is effortless, and it has a sound all its own!
@TinIndian You definitely need a couple of Cirrus! I have always been a Spector player, have owned 15 or so Spector Euros, NSCRFM's, NS2A's, NS2C's, and ReBops over the years, and still have about 5 Spectors currently. A Cirrus, IMO, is very similar to a neck-thru Spector, just a bit more refined and balanced, and not quite as aggressive as Spector...but still very modern sounding. I guess thats why I have come to love a Cirrus as much as any Spector I have ever owned.
Anyways, thanks again guys for enabling me and helping me build this collection...I am sure there are a few more yet to come ;)
