Why or Why not? I have not picked out a pre-amp yet, that would be next, I just want to shake the earth with one cab.

My dream rig is simple but powerful. One EBS TD650 head and an EBS 6x10" cab. And another one would be a HD350 head with 2 EBS NEO 1x12" cabs.

I haven't had the good fortune of trying any of the cabs on your list personally. If I end up going on vacation to So Cal this summer, I'm planning to try some stuff out!

I HIGHLY recommend trying the El Whappo and a Thunderfunk.....Best rig I have ever had (read here lots...) The combo is very complimentary....the cab is neutral so you can EQ it any way you want....and did I mention it can get LOUD!! The Thunderfunk drives the El Whappo really well and they sound good together even at low to moderate volumes....there is a LOT of meat in this combo....the low end is very deep BUT very clear (NO mud here folks)...the mids are even and flat with NO SCOOP (You can EQ in as much scoop as you want!!) and the (soft domed) Highs are the BEST I have ever heard in a Bass cab and A LOT better than most studio reference monitors I've used.....
This cab takes EQ very well and produces EXACTLY what you send at it....very subtle changes you make in hand position or technique, On board EQ, or PUP changes are all very apparent with this combo....The Timbre and Enhance knobs on the T-Funk are pretty much the only tone controls I have felt the need to use on the amp....I have used the EQ extensively just to see what it will do and I can honestly say I don't think there is a sound (except distortion, the Amp WILL NOT break up no matter what) that you could want that you won't find here when you use the amp, your hands, and your instrument to achieve the desired result.....my advice is simple.......RUN to your nearest location and try this combo before you spend a dime....you will come in VERY close to your budget as well.....

If you go Accugroove, a Thunderfunk may be the amp for you. They're a perfect match, and you can usually get better deals with them.
Lots of good stuff here. All high end gear is subjective of course...but to be able to gig rock, country, jazz, pop, metal...all of it...there is only one way= poweramp /pre amp combo. My 2 cents:
Get plenty of power (Crest, Crown, QSC): in the 900 to 1200w per side at 4 ohm range.
Great uncolored cab: Bergantino, Epifani, Whappo,EA etc: These are all good TRUE sounding cabs. Little coloration (unlike ampeg, eden, etc who have a distict sound). I prefer Berg 212 +310.
Add seperate preamps depending on gig. One clean/slap and one dirtier/rock. I carry Kern 777 and rackable Sansamp RBI. I can cover any sound with a Jazz and a P in the case.
With lots of power and uncolored cab, you can keep 80% of your rig intact (not buying and selling every 6 months) and simply experiment with differnt preamps. Keep your GAS for the pre's and you'll end up spending a lot less over the long haul.

I've decided on my ultimate rig (for now 
). It'll consist of no less than a Genz Benz GBE1200 and a Bergantino 6x10'', with the likely addition of a Mesa Powerhouse 2x15''. I've had to obtain clearance from the U.S.A.F., since they consider it a weapon of mass destruction.

Also, I have given this thread alot of thought and have come down to a few choices that are not in line with what I previously posted. I am considering a two cab set up, here is what I am thinking.
Demeter pre
QSC 1402 ( its in my closet, brand new)
Schroeder 1210
Schroeder 1212
OR should I go with the Schroeder 21012 ( large box) and use as a stand alone? I figure with the two cabs I have an extra tweeter and move a little more air.
What do you guys think?, these two cabs would weigh a total of about 90 lbs., my Ampeg BXT's weigh 122 lbs. ea.

I dont know how much better you can do, that is my perfect sound. My suggestion is go for the demeter and the bergie and your set.
