Ultra minimal pedalboards

Not quite ultra-minimalist. The Pod Express serves purely as an interface and as an effects device: all amp/cab/eq features disengaged. Sounds great so far.

Just cobbled this ultra-minimal pedalboard together for use on one song in a set list that doesn't require any other effects, so I resisted, was kicking and screaming all the way. If it works on that tune it'll be worth it. If it doesn't I'm happy -- really, much happier actually -- to continue not using any effects with this band.

You should get a referral credit. I ordered my DIm Stick last week.

Unfortunately, my ultra minimal is running towards more- “very compact” with tuner, di and 2-3 other pedals. Starting to wish I had just accepted the B1four is good enough and kept using it more. But pedal tetris can be fun and trying out new stuff is also. Anyway, Love Squeeze into B3k into spark has been cool. Sometimes the b3k can be a mojo mojo or a Lil Fella if i need to get wild. If i need no dirt really, any of them or the MBD2 work great. But that Barber Linden works really well adding bass back in to any dirt. It’s a struggle.

I certainly understand the struggle, when I should stop buying pedals, I cannot seem to stop.

If the only thing between my bass and my amp is a Polytune tuner, does that count as a "pedal board"?

In my quest for minimal equipment, I'd ditch the tuner "pedal" but I really dig the muting function so I can tune silently.

If I were to set the tuner on top of the amp, would that then be a complete elimination of a "pedalboard"?

The only effect I own is an octave doubler I bought for experimentation with a saxophone pickup that I never got round to installing.

Thank you! I can’t say it is transparent as when I engage it with all settings flat, it sounds really polished and well shaped. It’s like it’s been mixed and compressed by a pro engineer. Play around with eq to taste and explore the lpf and hpf knob and you’ll get amazing results.

Was expecting it to be a subtle and transparent preamp but I’m loving it. It has a nice flavour to it. I have a fliptop before it and it sounds thick and juicy even at high gain settings.

I've been lurking in this thread for a while trying to arrange a very bare minimum pedalboard and was completely inspired by a few of you that use a Pedaltrain riser as a board so I had to get one to try out. They actually work amazing well for these minimal boards. I think ultimately I want to swap the Neptunium for an Origin Effects DCX Bass tone shaper/drive as I don't always need the Neptunium for everything. My other option for the time being was to use a TC Electronic MojoMojo overdrive in place of the Neptunium. Anyways, it's kind of a fun mix & match project to figure out so here's mine...
