"Hello, I have been looking into authenticating.
There is no place close enough to have it done in person and will have to be sent to a place.
The artist has never had any intention to sell the bass and just offered to allow us to sell it to our benefit after taxes and service fees.
PSAcards will do it for an estimated $170 plus the cost of shipping the item to them. But that will take a bit.
the bass guitar was up for several years on primus' old website called primussucks.com. I can't find an archive of their photos since they switched to primusville.com
The artist says he may be able to find the backstage pass to the concert it was signed at. And I am hoping Les Claypool will place a photo on his page, but who knows how often famous people personally check their messages, and if he will even want to take the time. However I am sure he will remember as the artist claims he was really impressed and it is definitely an unforgettable one of a kind instrument.

No.. He ended it for the reason of "problems with the listing" and then relisted it.
Um, yeah.. My house is literally appraising at less right now than this guy wants for that bass.

I blame Ebay for listings like this. They eliminated the insertion fee so now it doesn't cost anything to list, and instead doubled the fees on the backend. What they are trying to encourage is more listings because there are more buyers proportionally than there are sellers. Makes sense from a business standpoint. But as a result, the buyers now get a lot of garbage like this because the seller can put up as many listings as he likes without a cost and just see what kaka sticks to the wall.
