First of all I am a female, Jaymeey Hatfield, so please stop referring to me as he.

It was not free to list this bass- your an idiot.

Since all of you want to talk so much smack, why don't you do a search simply for "art" on ebay then sort from highest price to lowest.

If you don'tthink it is worth the price compared to all the junk, you're just broke, jelous and senseless.

The price is not high because of the autograph, but because the artist is that good. Please show me a more creative bass with half the materials this piece uses. His butsudans sell for 5000 easy, and his clients are always happy. But this is a blog where a bunch of broke aces talk and aparrentlwho do not appreciate craftsmanship and art and will never be worth as much as Nathan.

To the jerk who said Nathan was dumb for having it signed on the handle. Look at the photos moron. The back is padded black Porsche leather... There is no place to sign there. And your not cool. I bet you took a guitar someone else made to Les and asked him to sign it? Les heard about Nathans bass from two different people and had
him contacted. Nathan was asked to bring his bass and given back stage passes BEFORE Les Claypool ever saw it in person. And I bey thatguitar was not ever on his website. I have lots more to say, since dikhed didnt relate my message to you, he is all about pasting pieces of mu message, but not the whole thing or what I ask him to.

The value of a piece of art has absolutely nothing to do with the cost of creating said piece. The value of a piece of work is solely determined by the market. Given that you have listed it 3 times at 6 figures, the market is telling you something. Listen to the market...

For a person with such a poor grasp of proper grammar you are very quick to criticize other people's intelligence.

After seeing your extremely unprofessional responses I am no longer curious as to why you seem to have zero business sense.

Jaymee,

This forum is for bassists and not a forum for art collectors so our perspective is from a musical viewpoint and not from a art collectors view. And from what the posts all concur is that from a musical perspective, this "bass" is not practical for our use and, is not a good investment as a instrument.

As a piece of art, beauty is in the eyes if the beholder, but this was posted on Ebay as a musical instrument, and not as a piece of art. We do not claim to be appraisers of art, but Talk Bass has members who are educated and experienced in the evaluation and appraisal of basses. And our consensus that this "bass" is a piece of junk with little to no value is legitimate. Perhaps if you marketed this as art, this entire post would not exist and the reactions to your sale would be different.

Sorry if we mistakenly took you as a man due to your name. That was an honest mistake that could be understood as males also have that name. We do apologize for that.

But given the vulgarity of your post here on Talk Bass, your choice of words are those of a drunken (now we know female) sailor.

But coming on here and calling people a dikhead, idiot, boke, jealous, senseless, and of course posting that that nobody here will be worth as much as this Nathan person is cool??

This woman deserves all the ridicule she gets, and more.

Just because someone's a loudmouth jerk doesn't mean you need to act like one too. She's an outsider and you know this is a generally friendly place. Besides, she wasn't pulling people's personal photos off the internet and insulting their looks, that's a whole 'nother level of immature a-holery.

Well you seem to have deleted your own post so, clearly on some level you agree it was uncalled for.

Every time I look at this stupid-@ss thing it makes me laugh... Someone find any other bass guitar thats worth 200k. The Les Claypool signature is like a 200x modifier? I think not.

I give you the Flora Aurum. $250K.

I was just too easy. I honestly couldn't resist. If you are going to come in here like that and insult the whole place I think anything goes. But that is just me.
