One of the most ambitious songs from Toys in the Attic, let alone Aerosmith’s entire discography, is the song “You See Me Crying.” Unique for Aerosmith, the song featured a symphony orchestra to add musical layers to the ballad.

While Steven Tyler had been very enthusiastic about getting it made, a rather bizarre moment occurred when he heard the song on the radio in 1984. Due to his constant substance use, Tyler had completely forgotten about all the time he’d spent on “You See Me Crying.” When he suggested to his fellow band members that they should make a cover version of that song, Perry promptly told him “It’s us, [bleep]head.”

Other names considered were the Megadeaths and the Screaming Abdabs.

Genesis got its name from Jonathan King, who discovered the band, largely because it worked well as part of the band's first album title, From Genesis To Revelation. King sadly turned out to be a very unsavoury character.

Pretty cool article on Invalid Link Removed’s which were a 70’s staple of those many great live concerts and used in a large % of recording studios. Someone on Ebay is selling some beautiful studio monitor JBL 4355 speakers in museum quality condition.
The Who had 12 installed in their personal studio.
These were the highest output monitors JBL ever produced, with each one capable of a sustained output level of over 125db.
And I thought collecting basses was an expensive hobby!

It’s funny. When I saw “Tea Set” , immediately thought of these guys below but I can find no connection between the other “Tea Set” and this Dutch group other than a similar timeline. Plus the spelling is different. They had one huge hit which sticks in my head even 50 years later.

Was reading the Variety article/obituary on David Crosby (RIP). I didn’t know this until today!

In 2000, it was revealed by singer Melissa Etheridge that Crosby was the biological father of two children born to Etheridge’s then-partner Julie Cypher via artificial insemination.

• The Closer To Home album was released on June 15, 1970. The day before, Grand Funk's label, Capitol Records, unveiled a huge billboard in New York City's Time Square to promote it at a cost of about $100,000. This thing was impossible to miss: It took up an entire city block. The album got a huge sales bump from the publicity, as did this song. The billboard was supposed to run for two months, but stayed up about five months because of a labor dispute with billboard workers. I’m Your Captain, which is on the album, is the only GF tune to have orchestration.
