The Life Aquatic - another private joke from Wes Anderson. Just plain irritating.

Klaus, ringing ship's bell: "Port au Patois! Port au Patois!!"

That movie was hilarious. You just need a little cultural background to appreciate the jokes. It was one of the driest comedies I have ever seen, and the cast was an impeccable ensemble for that style. Mark Mothersbaugh's score is also very memorable.

Wes' latest movie is pretty underwhelming, though.

I liked Born on 4th of July & Jerry Maguire & Rain Man & Eyes Wide Shut. Not because of Cruise. Just good filmmaking. He was also in The Outsiders.

I don't usually let another persons beliefs get in the way of my entertainment, but I've read a bit too much and researched a bit too deep into that particular ... way of life... to let it lie, I suppose. It's an exception of mine .. but it's true for me too with Tom and a few others.
