Anything those guys touched was gold, imo.
I agree, Starship Troopers is a glorified parody of a B-movie, but glorious it is.
However you look at it, Denise Richards totally makes up for any short-comings
Lotsa' hate here for Will Ferrell- I feel that way about Adam Sandler.
Dude just ain't funny to me.
As for Will's stuff, I can't say I've liked them all, but I thought "Step Brothers" was pretty hilarious.

Adam Sandler cracks me up! Mostly just his movies though.
Now that I think about it, his usual cast in most movies are funny. Now his stand-up act... not funny much at all.
Haven't read the whole the whole thread yet but most any movie with Jennifer Aniston in it I can't watch..

What's your opinion of "Just Go With It" then? Stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
I thought it was funny. Not because of Jennifer Aniston though. I thought Dave Matthews and Nichole Kidman did pretty good!
But yeah, Aniston does not deliver the funnies for me. Even if its meant as a "romantic comedy", she gives off too much of a Rachel vibe in EVERY role she does lol.

Very much glorified parody; a bit prophetic and simultaneously retrospective of society and war, etc., etc. In case anyone is interested, I am going to make a second plug for this web site. It is a film analysis for all who have (or haven't) seen ST, but goes really deep. Warning: heavy political commentary within.

Back on topic, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned:
Chicago (the musical film with Catherine Zeta-Jones) God awful!
Harold and Maude (1971). Watched this as part of a Psychology class assignment. I couldn't recall the point of it, but suffice it to say I was rather creeped out.
I bought and want to love Brazil because I love much of Terry Gilliam's work. It has its moments, but I just can't sit down and watch the damn movie. It drags on in a long boring blah. I can appreciate what it's trying to do while recognizing that it doesn't bring anything interesting enough (beyond some really good but incredibly sparse dialog) to pull that attempt off. Maybe I just saw too much of Gilliam's other work before seeing it--the same reason Wes Anderson's films are awesome until you've seen 4 of them and know all of his tricks.

The George Clooney remake of Solaris- I can't say it's a bad film, but something about it always puts me to sleep. In fact, I'd say that DVD is my Ambien. No matter how wired I am I'm out within 20 minutes once I hit play on that one.
