Unwatchable movies

Only two movies in fifty some odd years I didn't make it to the end of.

2001 A Space Odyssey - I made it to the end when it first came out probably because I didn't know any better. Saw it again in college and only made it half way thru. It just seemed pointless.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - I tried watching this recently and remember thinking, "It has to get better." After thinking that for an hour, I just had to shut it off.

Gosh, they must have, like, no skills.

The Life Aquatic - another private joke from Wes Anderson. Just plain irritating.

It wasnt Anderson's best film, for sure, but it had its moments for me.

2001 A Space Oddysey (the original one - I think they did a remake)

They didnt do a remake, they did a sequel, which was painfully bad.
2001 itself, is a classic though.

Highlander 2
Waterworld
Every Mission: Impossible past the first one.

I submit that any Highlander past the first 2 are unwatchable.

Waterworld came off like a made for TV movie.

I despise Tom Cruise so have only watched part of the first MI.

while not will ferrell-bad, i have never seen a TC movie that i thought was even mildly interesting.

ps-edit-- ok, i was wrong...the one where he played a 19th century army officer and helped the samurai in Japan (don't remember the name). i have to admit, that one was good

Haha I consider The Last Samurai his worst movie.

What about Jerry Maguire? Great movie.

Election and District 9 come to mind.

Election seemed like it had some critical acclaim but I found the dialogue so inane that I couldn't stand it anymore and left the theater.

District 9 was just gross.

I guess that's why there's (like water for) chocolate and vanilla (sky).
I give both those films thumbs up. Great script and acting in one, great special efx in the other.

"Freddy Got Fingered" and and any Ed Wood film are worse than a trip to the dentist for me. Truly unwatchable.

ANYTHING with Martin Short in it. I find him totally un-funny and annoying.

Another waste of time, "The Godfather Part III". What an utter piece of crap. Funny, since the "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part II" are my favorite two movies.

"Freddy Got Fingered"

Ironically, it's become something of a cult classic now, and some people think it was this edgy postmodern piece that was ahead of its time.

It still blows my mind whenever I think that Tom Green actually married Drew Berrymore. Talk about the underdog hitting the jackpot.

None of those. The only movie Tom Cruise was ever any good in is Tropic Thunder.

Ed Wood is a Tim Burton film about the director Edward Wood Jr who made really bad movies like 'Plan 9 From Outer Space' and 'Glen or Glenda'

Harold and Maude (1971). Watched this as part of a Psychology class assignment. I couldn't recall the point of it, but suffice it to say I was rather creeped out.

GAH !!! I love that movie!! The sound track was spectacular as well. It's just such a quirky love story ( admittedly ) that it's a love / hate thing.
