TMBs are all over the Reverb for around that price or less, but those sellers haven't done anyone the favor of torching the basses...
The claims are absurd, but it's definitely not the worst I've seen. I have one acquaintance that posted a video on Facebook of him giving his Strat some mojo by roasting it on his charcoal grill. I think he overdid it, and I've not seen any posts of that Strat since then.

Copeland here in Austin burns finishes. He's a small builder but his bodies look super cool with this treatment.

Did he strip the poly finish off first, or is that just charred plastic? A well done shou sugi ban finish on a guitar is a compelling idea, which this is not.

I dig it. Reminds me of my distressed craquelure finish. No fire involved and plenty of air left - it's where mojo resides...
Put the instrument in a vacuum chamber for a few days with some fresh reactive metal shavings. Then add helium back in and let it sit for a few weeks. Might reduce the weight by a microgram or two.
But why use helium when you can plastinate with vapor phase catalyszed silicone, just like Body World..... Good enough for people, good enough for P (Plastinated) basses.
I don't understand how he can practically give it away, at such a bargain price.
It's better than new, now.
He re-soldered all the terrible work that Ibanez did, and everything.
