Oh man. In the end -
Get an AVRI bridge with the threaded saddles and you can thank me later. Easy- fendery- inexpensive. Flip that bad badass (into the trash) just kidding - joking. I have a few. Sell it to a young Geddyhead. My two cents.

I actually got lucky and found a leo Quan badass II with pre grooved saddles...I saw one on ebay and I got the one on Reverb fender said it would be perfect for My USA Geddy Lee Jazz bass

It’s not just you. Mine is the same way. I noticed it awhile back when playing. I’m not sure why Fender made this new bridge that way and it’s the only thing that bugs me about this otherwise spectacular bass.

yeah drove me crazy,,,,but I hope this new Leo Quan badass II will work out...will let ya know nwxt week when i get it and install it

Isn’t this a $2k bass? It’s one I’ve always looked at longingly, but having to macguyver a $2k bass to make the fit right seems pretty ridic.

the pick ups on these things have a mean beasty growl and the best when you dig in. it's just the saddle width on a lot of these basses I see by some of these posts. it's nothing major but an annoyance for OCD players like me that is strange why fender did this. my friend has one of these basses and it has no issues at all, if worse come to worse then get a leo Quan badass II saw a few brand new between $75 and $99 on ebay and reverb but make sure you get one that is pre grooved saddles, thats the best bet, should be problem solved !

that was my thinking. They didnt just make a bridge and decide to widen the A and D spacing. If that bass is 7.25 then the saddle height is probably out of whack.

that was the second thing I did..lowered super low to see if it was a saddle height thing...still the same

Back to topic, I have seen Guy Pratt's Jazz bass sport a gap (between A&D strings) that would have bugged the hell out of me, but with no ill effect on his playing. For a new Geddy signature bass, I'd expect to have a choice, whether to set it up with a gap or not. The Bronco I bought new had a horrid bridge, but ok it's a $200 bass.

I like the adjustability and look of the Hipshot Kickass bridge. I would like to try that one if I ever decide to change the stock one.

I upgraded my Aerodyne with the Kickass bridge just so I could adjust string spacing easily. Well, it looks nicer than the stock bridge as well. No change in tone, but I'm happier with string spacing/pole alignment now. It would fix this problem for sure.

did you measure from middle of string to middle of string and see if the spacing is different?

yes and the a to the d was wider

The only real issue with mine is an annual tweak of the neck. I store it flat, and I need to try storing it more upright, or on it's side.

Once I adjust the neck, I absolutely love that bass.

I have a fret buzz on my E string but way up near body...not that I usually play that high up but after many trials with neck, bridge and string height adjustment I believe it is a fret itself...possibly need a little sanding down and it should be perfect

Whoops, I meant “with” it as in playing it. My mistake. The bridge on the one I have now seems alright
