I was super pumped about this thread when it started. Given all the "stuff" that's happened along the way, I'm not holding my breath.

I hear ya, i was SUPER pumped about the GFJ basses and was seriously planning to buy one.

Then all the "stuff" happened and I ended up using that $$ to buy some other used gear- a head, 2x10 cab and a bass. I got some very solid, giggable gear and they lost out on a sale.

i just jumped in this convo. heard the fusion 5 sound demo and it sounds awesome. has anyone tried one out? i didn't feel like reading 28 pages

Im not 100% positive but i THINK a couple of the Fusion 5's made it into circulation while the original distributor was liquidating his stock.
Sorry but you'd have to look back into the thread to verify.

Yes, that is correct. There are at least a few of both the Fusion 5 an dthe Super B basses floating around. I know the Fusion 5 that I have is a very nice bass. It sits in the mix well, plays great, balances well. I would put it and the Super B in the "very nice basses" category. Their $600ish price range is about right. All in all, nice stuff.

in my mind the fusion 5 would have more variety yet everyone is drooling over the super b(not that it doesn't look like a great bass) is there any particular reason why?

Same here. I like the look of single-cut basses, plus that huge pickup has me excited.
