so, after reading jonathan saffran-foer's "eating animals" (thought it was written terribly) and it totally opened my eyes to the absurdity of meat eating so since august i've been vegetarian, can i have a number please?
also for you upright playing vegos, what gut alternatives are there in the world? i want a loud string and i've been using velvets but i can't stand the arco tone, anything better out there? really i just want a loud string for busking without an amp. any ideas? i might post over in the db forums too.
I'm in! I've been a veg for almost three years.
Thanks, Lenny.

Hey! I'm a vegetarian, been so for about 5 months. I wish I could say I've had support. My family and friends disapprove but I mostly blow em off. I have one redneck-leaning friend who constantly bothers me about my diet. My parents are devout carnivores. Besides that, I feel great without meat. So much healthier and happier. Can I haz a number?
It certainly is tough without support. I find family dinners the hardest. My wife and I just bring our own food. Less drama that way. One time I had to be pretty firm at Thanksgiving and ask "Can we just eat our food in peace please? Is that too much to ask?"Hey! I'm a vegetarian, been so for about 5 months. I find if you stand up for yourself people see your serious and back down... usually.

the real question to me is if you take a woman out to dinner (and presumably you pay cause, presumably, you are a gentleman) would you care if she ordered meat? can you expect/request that she not order meat?
When I started dating my fiancee I was still eating meat and she had been veg for 10 years. She didnt have a problem with me eating what I wanted and I made the choice to go veg a few months later.
I personally wouldnt let the idea of paying for someone else to eat meat stop me from getting some good tail! You might want to keep some floss and mints handy, though.![]()
Wow, what a thought provoking statement.Just hit 27 years. Farm kid. Hated killing animals and hated butchering them even worse.
I'm not anti-meat eating. Humans are omnivores. If you can look it in the eye, hunt it and eat it, you have my sincere respect.
But if you get your meat from the store and don't truly understand where it comes from, yet make fun of or hassle vegetarians (as many do) then you are a complete tool.
