Records, LP's, vinyl, it's all good.
Heavy Weather, got an original release. I play it like all the others.
The music's too good to idolize.

Thorens TD 125 MK II, TP 16 MK I tonearm, Sumiko Blue Point cartridge, H. H. Scott 130 Preamp, H. H. Scott 208 Power Amp, NHT SB2 speakers.

The Yamaha CD player has been replaced by an H. H. Scott 310B tuner.

I`ve got a question maybe one of you could help me with? I`ve just gotten my first turntable(well as an adult.No Huckleberry Fin this time!) I`ve got it placed on top of my stereo/cd player. It`s resting on a slant.I know that isn`t the best place for it but at the moment it`s the only spot I can place it. Now my question/worry is that because it`s not perfectly flat it`s made balancing the tonearm almost impossible and therefore I could have too much pressure on the needle/record. Could I be damaging it? I`ve got it as light as I can without it skipping toward to outside of the record. And the sound quality is great. Should I try to make a shelf for my turntable so that it lays flat?

Very very nice. I go with with bigger sounding speakers....but the front end is sweet. Nht's are nothin to sneeze at.....but to get that true warm bottom end that vinyl can provide....maybe Santa will get you a nice set of floor standers.:)

^That`s a nice set up! I put some magazines under the front of my turntable until I can either 1)make a shelf for my gear or 2) find that piece of Plexiglas I`ve got laying around and make some shims for the front legs of the turntable.
I think I managed to take a lot of weight off of the needle by leveling the turntable. Thanks everyone for the help!

Yes, you could be damaging your records and stylus by not having your turntable level. Level the turntable.

I use these: -> [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] under my turntable between the table itself and the shelf.

You should be able to find a place. You're in Zurich, I recently bought a stylus for my Stanton cart that said "Made in Switzerland" on the packaging.

A friend recently re-introduced me to the analog magic that is vinyl. I had forgotten how enjoyable it is to just sit an listen to an album from start to finish as it was intended. Inspired by this re-discovery, I bought an early-'80s Pioneer PL-7 off eBay this week, and will soon be assembling the rest of the required compnents to make it work. Unfortunately, the small collection of vinyl I had in the '80s is long gone. My new collection consists of one solitary disc - Fleetwood Mac "Rumors".
