Virginia Bassists

Right down the street from ya on Shore:D

Hey, let's hear for the North Beach guys! I'm off of Mill Dam across from First Colonial High School. My next door neighbor is O.E. Burke, the guy who used to own Freedom Surf Shop.

When it warms up, we might be able to pull off a South Hampton Roads GTG. My wife would just love to have 15+ guys like me millin' about the place.

Born in Guam, Raised in Virginia Beach, Currently live in Spokane Washington though. I used to play in a band called Subject 4 in Va Beach in the late 90's early 00's.

I miss the beach and the music scene but Love it hear in Spookaloo. We got about a foot or so of accumulated snow this season. The snowboarding is fun!

Definitely would like to work on a GTG, maybe a swap-meet kinda thing.

Any of you bass players down around Richmond looking for a good band, check out Wrenn Mangum. Wrenn is an Elvis impersonator by trade and he's realyl good at it too! But he also has a band called "Boneanchor." They play out now and then around Richmond and they're really, really good. Thing is...they don't have a bass player! Drums, vox, and guitar. No bass. I asked Wrenn what the deal was and he said that they had had some bass issues and weren't able to find anyone so they started playing without one. I know at one point, they were looking (I think they specifically wanted upright). I haven't talked to Wrenn in a while but if anyone is lookng for a project with some hell cool guys, maybe look up Boneanchor on Myspace. Great music and great people...they're just silly in thinking that they didn't need a bass player!

So I just got back from a trip round the Beach, and came back with some neat stuff... I put an 8-string (dual-course) Carlo Robelli in layaway, and picked up a USB M-Audio interface. :hyper:

The 8 string's going to be a donor neck/electronics/hardware for a body I'm shaping up, and the M-Audio may not be great, but I got an awesome deal. If you guys want to find the occasional gold mine, hit up the Cash Converters. Right now on First Colonial they've got a nice OLP MM for $399... And a decent Dean 4 banger. Little pricey, but you can talk them down.

Just a heads-up.
