Virginia Bassists

Hey! I'm new to TB and live in Northern Virginia - more commonly called NoVa. I live in Leesburg and and also looking to get into an established rock/classic rock/blues band.

Hope to participate in more email strings as time progresses!

Later,
Paul

+1 on Chuck at Moe's Music.
I have played a few Blues Jams with him. I am temporarily back in Chicago for medical treatment...I'll be back!!!!
Does the Jewish Mother still host a Blues Jam ? There was a joint on Shore Drive that hosted one for awhile. My son and I are back and forth several times a year. Who currently hosts Blues Jams and on what nights. Do any of you cats know Lloyd. He was playing with the Funky Blues Kings. Ilook forward to seeing some of you cats in the Spring.

Hey Ben - I didn't know you were originally from Virginia had still had ties up here. Or maybe I did and have forgotten it.

Personally, this thread became solid gold once someone mentioned Paul's Deli in Williamsburg. My older brother and I both went to school down there, so we both misspent FAR too much of our college careers at Paul's.

Ben - I find it highly amusing that you and I have played the same venue (admittedly 20 years apart) - I played William and Mary Hall (in the basketball season pep band - not quite the same thing, sadly).

Glad to hear you, like me, have spent far too many nights at Paul's Deli

Starting in 1990, when, as a 15 year old, I visited my brother in his senior year at W&M, through my own graduation in '97 - '07 was the first year I didn't go back for homecoming. Paul's was the only place worth going.

Sadly, I never played there, but the story of my 21st birthday at Paul's is better entertainment than any band I ever played in.
