Hard to tell exactly what the bass sounds like in that video. It sounds very produced. Best is to try the VT Bass out if you can and decide for yourself. IMO, it does do a good job at getting overdriven Ampeg-type sounds.

my opinion is yes it will do all that. however, you have to like ampeg tube amps or you won't like it.

Good thing for me then. I love Ampeg tube amps, but can't afford the ~$9k pricetag for head+fridge, nor have the room in my 2-door coupe to fit it into

Okay, I had the chance to hear the original VT Bass today, loved it, great light overdrive and punch which I was looking for, I'll definitely go for the Deluxe.

The only other strange deal with the Vt del, is the fx loop.... getting used to it though.

using my jam man in the loop, from what I can see, if you program a single channel with the fx loop on and save the channel, it will activate it with that particular channel and if you switch channels, where the fx loop is not activated, it'll turn it off.

That sounds pretty logical and normal to me.

That's a good thing really (and logical too, yes). You may want a different sound AND no loop, so you'd only have to change channels to get the desired tone.

I'm really looking forward to making my purchase, but I need it soon. If Tone Factor don't have it in by the end of this week I'll have to look elsewhere.

i guess i have a decision before me...use the loop or go straight in. i'll probably go straight in since i don't use effects on the upright. but i'll definitely give it a shot in the loop.

Cheers, I actually posted the same link myself in another thread last week. Keeping an eye on it, Tone Factor told me they'd email once they get it in and because their postage is cheapest, their return policy is awesome and they seem like good people in terms of customer service I already feel a sense of loyalty to wait out for them, even though this will be my first purchase with them. But if it gets to Friday and no word, I'll check ebay once more...
