You have given enough information that it is easy to figure out that female is a red herring and he is looking for Glenn Hughes.The person who composed the CL ad has also posted much the same story on Vancouver's CL, for about the last 2-3 years.
Before CL cracked down, he named the female bass player in his ads. I won't, but she is an American from Pasadena, who was in an American pop rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1981. The band recorded several singles that reached the U.S. top 10 during the 1980s. The player then retired to the Vancouver area, if we can believe one of the ads by the person "looking" for her.

OT: I LOVE the Meat Puppets. To think that they toured with Black Flag and The Minutemen for a time in the '80s is so wild to me.
